man ive lived in st paul for 12 years (my whole life), jeez after the smokestack implosion its hard to find something thats been there since i was born...
... what are you talking about--St. Paul is full of landmarks that have been there for more than 12 years. The Fitzgerald Theater, the Capitol, the Landmark Center, most houses, the Library, etc the list goes on and on. Look up some basic St. Paul history and you'll be amazed how much you're missing.
On the river at the High Bridge on South Smith come to see the death of a monolith If you live close by, shut windows and doors Smoke makes you cry, gets in your pores! [refrain] Stack in the sky where eagles soar Stack come down with a mighty roar No more sulfur, mercury Life by the river as it should be! Down came the giant where the waters roll Gotta be compliant, don't burn that coal! But what's this rant rising from the heap? That new gas plant ain't penny cheap!
from the angle it looks like i was a few blocks away from you like closer to where the top fell. it was SO worth waking up at like 5:30 to see it lmao
Excellent video, I shot mine from up Cliff Rd a ways so it was falling a bit more towards us. The shock wave was quite intense. Love hearing the crowds reaction.

Wonderful video. I wasn't there. I was there when they brought down the old Montgomery Ward tower, but I couldn't get the camera ready in time.
