But it was just a few months later that Nirvana started to gain momentum, and by Dec., GRUNGE was beginning to gain major popularity.And that was the death knell for 80's style Hard Rock for quite some time

Michael got edged out in 2001 by Eddie. It was unpleasant because Michael is such a nice guy. Michael joined up with Sammy, did a tour, etc. When Eddie brought Michael back in 2004 for a VH tour it was on a reduced-royalty clause. Ouch!
All this attention on Eddie and Wolfgang.........but it's a well-known fact that Van Halen would be a very boring band without David Lee Roth. Dave was always weird and wacky, but he was single-handedly responsible for making VH the ultimate party band that was about fun and optimism. Listen to any interview by Eddie or Alex over the years -- BORING! Dave is the coolest frontman of all time.
You can't delete Mike from the bands history, he will always be remembered as VH's bass player, whether Ed likes it or not. And no, Mike didn't quit, Ed has had it out for him since the 80s, just ask Billy Sheehan.

For you people that are debating with yourselves comparing the new EVH's to the older Peaveys, I will say this, the Peavey Wolfgangs are great guitars. But the new EVH's are going to be made with ALDER wood instead of Basswood like the Peaveys and with stainless steel frets and a whole new electronics and tweaked pickups.
For that know, Eddie's older sound from the late 70's and early 80's were mostly guitars made out of alder. So in other words, this new Fender EVH is going kick ass!!!!

All this attention on Eddie and Wolfgang.........but it's a well-known fact that Van Halen would be a very boring band without David Lee Roth. Dave was always weird and wacky, but he was single-handedly responsible for making VH the ultimate party band that was about fun and optimism. Listen to any interview by Eddie or Alex over the years -- BORING! Dave is the coolest frontman of all time.

You can't delete Mike from the bands history, he will always be remembered as VH's bass player, whether Ed likes it or not. And no, Mike didn't quit, Ed has had it out for him since the 80s, just ask Billy Sheehan.
The fact is, Ed says Wolfie is so talented, but there's no new music. If the 2007/2008 was just nolstagia, that makes it even more unforgivable excluding MA. If it really was a new band, that would be one thing. Bands make music jackass!

For you people that are debating with yourselves comparing the new EVH's to the older Peaveys, I will say this, the Peavey Wolfgangs are great guitars. But the new EVH's are going to be made with ALDER wood instead of Basswood like the Peaveys and with stainless steel frets and a whole new electronics and tweaked pickups.
For that know, Eddie's older sound from the late 70's and early 80's were mostly guitars made out of alder. So in other words, this new Fender EVH is going kick ass!!!!
