  • i remember the flood the water completly missed our house and hit the others houses around us

  • my house is gone i was 6 when it happend now im 1o

  • i was there getting horses out of chest deep water at the fairgrounds, another hour and i would of lost them .

  • I live in Miami and it's raining at this moment. I live in the NW part of town, but it has flooded where I'm at. I have learned to loathe heavy rain and thunderstorms. When this town was built, the lay out of it wasn't thought about, I don't think. Riverview Park and everything in the south end of town goes under if it's bad enough. I hate to see this happen over and over.

  • Wow!! This is an excellent video. Good job. I live in Miami (Mudville) now and remember very well the day this started happening and the week after and the months of rebuilding and clean up after that. I was lucky enough to live on a high spot of ground on the NW side of town but just a few blocks behind us went under. It was horrible. The tension on the south side of town could be cut with a knife as people tried to get their belongings before their houses went under.

  • i grew up here and the place i used to live got too damaged to be saved, so it was torn down....

  • Wow, I hadnt seen a few of these photos. My house was just down the street from the shot @ 1:45. Yes mine was a total loss.

  • The little house at 1:21-1:22 was mine at the time of the flood!

  • wat did the river look like?

  • it was flooded over the river view park

  • i live in miami no joke i was there.. the flood took my house

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. I hear of more and more people who suffered major damages to their property or flat out lost it. It's sad.

  • why do you ponounce it miam-ah anyway?

  • NOT like Miami...Florida that is. The town is named after the Native American Tribe...THE MIAMI TRIBE....and they may have pronounced it the way you have typed it. I have heard it both ways. I lived in Miami and attended NEO A&M until 2005. My parents still live in Grove, Ok and that's not too far from Miami. They each pronounce it differently, but most do pronounce it MY-AM-UH. That's how I pronounce it as well.

  • very good- gold star

  • Thanks! By the way...I love your screen name! This breaks my heart! I remember the flooding issue when I lived in Miami. Will they ever do anything to help drain the water after the storms? Are there any plans?

  • thanks- i dunno i'm not from there.

  • Your welcome! My friend Kurt made this video. I just happened to stumble across it on here.I haven't really spoken with him in a while, but I think I'll ask him to give some updates. Have a great night!

  • we lived on scotty court, the home is now gone, so is the entire neighborhood

  • wow i use to visit there was i was a lil one.

  • My birthday was on July 2, the day we were affected by the flood, then after we finally got completely settled back in, the tornado that happened May of this year took our house again. It broke my heart, but I had to move to Texas. I'm an oklahoma girl, and I miss miami so much

  • I know how you feel I recently left Louisiana due to Gustav.

We survived the hurricane and no lights for eight days.

We had water but no air conditioning in 90 degree weather.

We decided it was enough and cleaned up the yard and windows and put the house on the market and left after it sold.

We live in a new place but still miss that house.

But at least we are all together and safe from harm.

That is all any of us can hope for God Bless and take care.

  • This is very very sad because i was without a home from july 3 2007 to october 1 2007 and my home is on the video it is 0:48-0:50, Nice video

  • I used to live in Grove and went to Miami often. Heartbreaking to see the reports when this was happening and the images now. Blessings to those affected.

  • could you tell me where you got the pics it is for a project

  • Well done, this is a great video.I live in Miami and I will never forget this. I was not flooded thank God. But I have many friends who were. This was truely a tragity. If you are frm Miami and you were flooded, I give you my deepest condolenses. I am truely sorry from the bottom of my heart. Good job thekurtamas

  • Miami floods so Tulsa remains dry. It's a sad, sad shame...

  • I am originally from Fairland. I live in the DFW area now and I never had one single person call me and tell me about this. I wonder why. I know this area...it flooded often during my time in Ottawa County (1969 - 1987). Are there just not enough votes there to do the right thing? Will it be like Tar Creek...just a fact of life for all future generations? Makes me both sad and angry. Thank you for posting it tho!
