  • hihi wie geil hab 3 brüste

  • the composer of this song is just the man no doubt

  • 0:30-1:08 eargasm

  • HELL YEAH!

  • i am a fan and i thought 13 was awful...

  • @DiggZiggah thats really too bad because there are alot more fans out there who like ff13

  • I'm back again, because this song is so damn good...

  • @capnbarfy Its bloody good m8 one of the best pieces of music produced from a FF game.

  • @silvagunner24 I actually like this track more then ff7 dont get me wrong I still like ff7.

  • 0:30 epic

  • @silvagunner24 muuuuch better!

  • Im more of a FF9 fan. FF games have too much sci-fi in em or anime characters now.

  • @MsGhoulz I beg to differ, every FF are of different theme.

  • Best. Final Fantasy. Soundtrack. Ever.

  • @capnbarfy FF XII Soundtrack is very good too, but I agreed, fantastic game and music :D

  • FF fans are from all the games, the posers are indeed FF7 fans xD, its a good game and all, but since I think the generations before me are usually worth respecting. I'd say the true fans are FF1 fans and those who played the early games. I mean they've been playing stuff before I was born, so respect to them. : )

  • 0:42 ITS THE POWER OF THE FUUUUUUAAAAA!

  • i think this is the most epic music of this game with the "blinded by light"song

  • I want the soundtrack!! Hope I can buy it next month. This song is EPIC!! Better than FF7, but I like the soundtracks from all the FF series.

  • hearing this theme forces me to add the paradigm shift noises and light and vanille moaning from damage O_o

  • I'm playing this game, though its taking me a while I am almost done with the second disc and I know I'm not done with the game but I have only this to say:

If Lightning really did exist in real life I'd soooooo try to date her. :)

I like her way of doing things.

  • @NativeAmericanKnight if you tried to date her, shed flip you across the room, pull out her gunblade, and stands an top of you. then she'll say " im not you average Girly-girl." and shoot you in the leg for good measure. GUARANTEED. no refunds allowed.

  • @117DragonSpirit Doesn't matter, I'll just take the hit and still be nice to her.

  • @silvagunner24 Naw I just saw somebody mentioning a hate comment and thought I would do something to that effect solely for effect.

    I'm cool with ff13.

  • six people got backdoored by lightnings dildo.

  • Love: FF I IV VI VII IX X XI Tactics Dissidia (1 and 2)

Haven't played XII or XIII yet. I want to buy a PS3. D=

My favorite is IX. I <3 IX...

  • @poetaviolinista Oh! And forgot to mention I <3 XIV... XD Not many people say they love XIV. But I do.

  • So... I don't think there is THE ff. What I think is, like, the only ffs I ever played were 1, 2, 11 and 13. The only one I EVER OWNED is FF XIII, so, for me, its the best one. However, the ffs don't share the same history, so I might as well like others. But still, for gameplay, for characters, graphics, and mainly SOUNDTRACK, FFXIII for the win :D

  • @strongenough4u play ffx and ffvii. <3

  • Feels like KingdomHearts

  • Final Fantasy Xlll is the best Final Fantasy I've played! I've played 7 and 10 too, I still think 13 is the best!

  • holy shit I LOVE THIS TUNE. this is a great soundtrack..!

  • When I hear this while I'm training my strenght increases in 250 points

  • I think the name is saber's edge =P

  • 2:02 O.o

  • What I like about XIII's music, is it's not designed for inducing stress, or increasing the anxiety of the situation.

It reflects Lightning's soldier-demeanor and gives the player a feeling of determined focus, and preventing the enemies appearance to intimidate them. But that's just my two cents.

  • @JTown465 It also makes you feel fierce and tough..yet graceful.

  • @JTown465 I do like your two cents. Nowadays FF gamers look back and say how great the old ones were, but what you really have to do is look into the game and find something new to enjoy :D but that's just my two cents aswell.

  • @typeing321321321 Wow, thank you very much! I think people forget that all Final Fantasy games are actually pretty good at a certain level. 13 has a really nice battle system that makes for really challenging fights that force you to balance between offensive and defensive positions, and encourages buffing and debuffing more so than any other Final Fantasy I've played. The story isn't the best, but they have wonderful character development.

  • @JTown465 I agree that the story line was complex with the whole l'cie and Fal'cie, but over all the character development was good as you said, and again with the whole buffing because even at your strongest you still can't beat a few higher monsters.

  • @typeing321321321 Yeah, I remember being surprised that that I was SUPPOSED to actually use sentinel/saboteur/synergist classes. And once I got the ability to add an element to a weapon, made me so happy.

  • I remember when I first heard this theme playing FF13 in the beginning. I had to pause the game for like 15-20 mins to hear this piece. Fucking beautiful.

  • I think many people who call themselves FF fans tend to be FF7 fans really. FF7 is a brilliant game, but so is FF13. They're completely different and shouldn't be compared. Also, this soundtrack is quite badass!!

  • @kcronig I loved FF7, and yes, it's the best Final Fantasy yet. But I agree, set aside being way too linear, FF13 was a very good game: Characters, soundtracks, graphics, combat system - loved all of it.

  • @kcronig

I agree! Those who don't like FF XIII (and FF XII also) are just too nostalgic! What came after FF VII and VIII are shit to their eyes because of this nostalgy

  • @leperot FF VII was also the first mass produced Final Fantasy game in the US because it was the first one on the Playstation and the first times always have a big impact on you

  • @buddieclub1

True, and I was one of the "victims" of this first FF mass production : )

  • @leperot As was I however, I loved most of the FF's. 6,7,9 to be my particular favorite. 6 having the most story with 9 following that. In my opinion

  • @kcronig FFX and FFX-2 is what turned me on this series when I was 10 :)

  • @9900484 I wonder what annoys people in X-2 :/

  • @UnknownAngeI

X-2? The overly cheery girly story is what gets me. Watching the main characters go "GIRL POWAH YEAH!" for the whole game drives me nuts.

  • @Stradivarius8457 Is it? I really don't mind that, cuz I'm a girl xD

  • @kcronig ill. ffvii is the best in most peoples opionin. IMO i thought FFX was the best. Some of the best music was in th earlier parts JENOVA/ one winged angel/decisive battle/to zanarkand/those who fight/prelude (ffx)/FFvii main theme. The one i really only liked was the main theme is this game. although i do like some of the boss fights. ffvii boss fight i wasn't impressed at all.

  • @kcronig I've been playing FF7 recently, and personally m favorite is FF4.

  • @kcronig ... I will grant emphatically that 13 has a really great soundtrack. But honestly, I find the characters annoying (ESPECIALLY that ditz Vanille), the plot is literally just cobbled-together cliches, with only one or two really decent moments, and the art design pisses me off to no end. Especially Anima. The only decent foe is Barthandelus (whose fight-mode design sucks even worse than Anima's), and... just don't get me started on Orphanus. >>

  • @kcronig Agreed m8

  • @kcronig Fun fact: turning down the opacity makes Cloud and Lightning very similar.

That being said though, they are completely different games, just that the front-cover protagonists are very alike.

  • @marthedge Lightnings appearance is actually based on clouds.

  • @NANOFORGE Yeah, it's just kinda weird how all you have to do is turn down the opacity and they don't look all that different.

  • 1:53 - 2:39 pure epicness

  • doesn't give me the impression of boss battle, nobuo uematsu is much better.

  • The theme is awesome... But still doesn't beat the Black Mages' version of the One Winged Angel...

  • 0:41-1:08 best moment in my entire lifeXD

  • I love Saber's edge always play with it in dissidia,

  • hahaha all of u thinking about 7 but 10 has the greatest music ever

  • really an epic one ! an outstanding one !!!!

  • At 2:02 I was like BAN-KAI !!

  • I didn't like this game much but as a Final Fantasy fan this is one of my favorite boss battle themes.

  • is there a better final fantasy boss theme? i dare say no!! this is epic, too bad i didnt like so much about the game...stunning visuals though

  • No, this's the best BT :D

  • Comment removed

  • epic

  • This soung gets me hyped. Made the whole game that much better!

  • i dont know if i will get hate comments for this but this boss thme is better than ff7s boss theme

  • @TheBlackOni1 the only ppl that are gonna hate you for sayn that are the ppl who are stuck back in the 90's lololol things change so they better get used to it cause as you said ff13 music IS WAY BETTER THAN FF7 so if they hate you for writen that then they'll hate me as well to so you wont be alone

  • well said we will have to see what happens

  • Let me in LOL

    We're 3 now :D

  • @TheBlackOni1 no , IT IS better , no worries man u get a thumbs up from me :D

  • thx

  • @TheBlackOni1 Being that 7 was the first I played, I guess you could say it'll always ho;d a special place for me, music included. I'm not hating on you, don't get me wrong...let's just say that while this is indeed epic, 7 will always be better imo.

  • i agree but who knows maybe people will get over ff7 then again maybe not

  • @TheBlackOni1

this is better than most of the boss themes.. best part, its not by uematsu

  • @TheBlackOni1 you are retarded its not.

  • @bonerzzzzz They're retarded for having an opinion?

  • @TheBlackOni1 OMFG! must apply a hate comment AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • @TheBlackOni1 Well, there are different eras to game music based upon the sound rendering limitations of teh time; the reason taht, say, Mario's theme si so memetic is taht it was originally based around a very simple 8-bit rendering tune, which is to say, simple chords that are easily remembered and so you find yourself humming them. To a slightly lesser extent, this is also true of FF7. So regardless of overall quality, game music as it stands will never be as memetic or iconic as FF7.

  • @TheBlackOni1 its " better" because its newer and you teens these days only think about the simple fact that ff7 was mades YEARS AND YEARS before ff13

  • @elijahcrazy I like this boss theme It's all about personal opinion-you can't really debate about which one is actually better because that would be like comparing an orange to a peach. They're both fruit but their unique in their own way.

  • Love this theme I don't get why people hate final fantasy XIII so much.

  • @raf455 because they cannot create a masterpiece like this the should go get a life and stop suing for no reason

  • everytime i hear this song...it reminds me of being late to school...brushing my teeth, puttin on my clothes and forgettin my packed lunch.... :D no kiddin...seriously...

  • @TristanNinjaBoy121 I think of a solid boss whipping. Iunno. That's just me.

  • @ThinkYouCanPlay yhh...thiss song also remind of a ball room for some reason..:S lool

  • yo me tttooooo i be hoping bosses be popping up everywhere just for this theme

  • the song's called saber's edge not blaze edge!

  • i could easily listen to this song 300 million times before i finally decided it was too much, but then i'd be missing out on all of the other amazing songs from final fantasy -.- does anyone else also share my dilemas =S

  • Hamauzu's work is amazing, but sadly the difference between his compositions and Uematsu's is that the memorable melodies of Uematsu stick with you, but as grand and amazing as Hamauzu's work is, its unlikely that you are going to remember much, but you will instantly recognize it. I like both for different reasons,

  • @BackToTheFoundation I don't know. I remember it pretty well personally. Maybe most people can't, but I do. Great music doesn't have to be immediately recognizable in order to be amazing.

  • @BackToTheFoundation Yeah I agree, won't be humming Hamauzu's pieces as much as Uematsu's, but listening to either person's will send equally large waves of nostalgia.

  • @LiiChinHo This is quite true.

  • I'm love this song and now I'm am struck on gran pulse it's fuckin hard every enemy is like a boss

  • @RCfan234 It's true, but if you take your time, go for the lower levelled enemies, figure out a good paradigm combo for who you're using, you'll get through it! I had the same problem! :) I can now defeat any of those enemies in seconds hehehe! :P

  • whats the song called and who by??

  • It's Saber's Edge, not Blaze Edge ;)

  • @TheLeonhart96 What this guy with the awesome name said! :) Saber's Edge!

  • @strifey07 Thanks! XD

  • @TheLeonhart96 You're Welcome! XP

  • The best music battle the history of final fantasy!!

  • @risco6666 I prefer Don't Be Afraid and Battle Themes of Final fantasy X

    XDXD

  • @TheLeonhart96 and me,but this song is the best, only this.

  • isn't the real name of the song saber's edge?

  • Wrong I am not. Imho ff12 is the worst of the main series. This fame indeed up being middle of the road, great potential but too much remained from ff12, but first half of game was excellent.

  • 4 people are either c'ieth or piscom

  • does anyone know where i can download ffxiii music from?

  • i love this song...! best boss theme for me...!

reading the comments before, but I have played many FF ...

FF12 is not like the previous ... but for me it is still a good game ...

exploration and has a lot of minor things (which did not FF13).

    FF13 but I appreciated it anyway! :)

  • The battle music in this game was excellent...much like the battle system!

Unfortunately the rest of the OST is as lackluster as the rest of the game....

  • Overall, fans hate on FF 13 out of nostalgia because it isn't a clone of the games before it, but that's a good thing because it add something new to a franchise that was beginning to lose it's flavor. It's good that Square is trying to give it a new twist so that we won't expect the same thing from them and get bored.

  • Mashashi Hamauzu is more than a worthy successor. The man is gifted.

  • this is 1 of the 3 pieces of music i liked from ff13 trully excelent ones

  • 3 people have either miss-clicked or don't have taste in epic music.

  • lyrics translation in English:

Ragnarok. Come Day of Wrath, O Pulse l'Cie

Embrace thy fate, thine home to burn.

Ragnarok. Come Day of Wrath, O Pulse l'Cie

Embrace thy fate, thine home to burn.

That fallen souls might bear our plea..To hasten the Divine's return. O piteous Wanderer.

    \

  • kinda sounds like super smash bros brawl in some parts

  • The flow of the music actually reminds me of Saga frontier 2, like what kristofori said, the expressionist styles that was put in this piece gives an overall feeling to the track. I just cant wait to enjoy this game.

  • :D beautiful Hamauzu did a great job

  • I think this is the best battle theme in final fantasy that shows energy and excitement :)

  • Great transitions, piano melodies fit in flawlessly. My favorite boss music of all time.

  • the 2 people who didn't like this video don't what real music is

  • @eastsideboy999 AW SHUT UP ,,IT MAYBE EPIC BUT I BET THEY HATE FF13 .... PLUS THERES INFINITE EPIC MUSICS WITCH IS WAY EPIC THAN ALL FF MUSICS

  • Comment removed

  • @eastsideboy999 BESIDE ,,, THERES TOO MANY EPIC GAMES ,, WITCH IS EPIC THAN ALL FF GAMES ... -_-

  • @exelentdude OK WHATEVER, WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN OPINIONS, NO NEED TO GET ALL PISSY ABOUT IT. BY THE WAY, you know you can turn off all caps right? -_-

  • @eastsideboy999 THERE AWAY TO TO TURN OFF ALL CAPS? IMPOSSIBLE!!! IF THERE IS AWAY I MUST HAVE FORGOT

  • Absolutely magical. I LOVE boss battle themes there always so damn awesome!

  • Truly Epic.

  • I liked Nobuo Uematsu more :|

  • I agree

  • @CrazyNinjaShadow His music might not have done so well for this game. So far every track in FF13 has fit the mood so perfectly.

  • @Rexhunterj

    I suppose. I wouldn't know; I haven't played 13. How is it? I've heard many mixed reviews.

On a side note, this song in particular reminds me a lot of Kingdom Hearts...

  • @CrazyNinjaShadow its very active you need to use strategy and has a upgrading system kinda like the sphere grid from ffx and also a variety of charectars to choose after a part of a game and has many side quests with awesome graphics and amazing drama and action

  • EPIC MUSIC....

  • I made a MIDI version of this music! Please listen to it!

    watch?v=TEoJs28tWQg

  • i dont know why but from 0:41 gives me goosebumps! Mabye its coz this song is just too amazing xD

  • i remember in the begining you hear this song alot!!

  • One of my friends loves this song. I prefer Desperate Struggle, though. It's the second boss theme that usually plays for the 64 marks on Pulse.

  • I want this soundtrack soooo bad!!! It's sold out on the SquareEnix store..

  • This fits so well into the game. I pray for boss battles when I play so I can hear this epicness.

  • @KobeisGod32

    i second that

this song is so f'in epic!

  • ya well the popes little pet is hard as a mother fucker!

  • @KobeisGod32 Oh hell yeah! I'm the same way, I'm like "come on boss battle!!!" lmao

  • @markd751 i always look forward to boss battles myself. the only thing about ff13 is it eased you into always being strong enough to easily beat every boss though. still a great game.

  • @KobeisGod32 Plus actually fighting them is alot of fun too. ;P

  • Love the jazzy piano parts. So unexpected.

  • By far one of the best musical pieces on a FF soundtrack.

  • so epic, especially when your digging into the boss and music peaks...FF13!

  • Man this is so amazing and beatiful!

  • Looks like Square-Enix has a worthy successor to Uematsu in Hamauzu (Uematsu went freelance). Fear not Uematsu fans, he's composing the music for FFXIV.

  • Hamauzu left Square-Enix after finishing FF13 :P

  • this is very similar to the boss music in ffX i also heard that Masashi Hamauzu was the real creator of the music in ffX which is great news

  • this music is amazing

  • 3:10 this is really awesome. but it is a bit sad that not all of it is that great

  • I'm not saying I dislike this track in any way. In fact I think it's great... but really for a "boss battle theme" I was hoping for something with a little bit more kick (Ala still more fighting from FF VII)

This sounds like it should be used in the world map or something like that.

  • It seems to me Hamauzu's music for this game has more overall aesthetic appeal and less thematic focus, unlike Uematsu where he was all about the melody. Take, for example, the very fast atonal/chromatic piano runs at 2:57 and 3:05. Melodically it makes no sense, but its the expressionistic qualities that add to the overall feeling of the track which reflects what is happening in the game.

I like the new style, but I agree it is definitely not what we're used to from the older games.

  • can't say or make opinions till you play the game about the music

  • @orionpk The music fits perfectly with the game, imo. I'm glad I was able to listen to the soundtrack prior to playing the game, makes it all the better :D

  • @kristofori Uematsu almost gave older final fantasy games a kind of nintendo-ish feel, didn't he? I guess that's where they started but it continued for quite a while into PS1 and PS2.

  • @MDHmodder I think the biggest thing was technology. Uematsu had to work with 8bit midi instruments, Hamauzu has a ton of space to work with on the PS2 and can work with much better samples and virtual instruments.

  • @kristofori true that. Lost odyssey had an amazing OST.

  • @kristofori I totally agree with you and think you talk alot of sense, this is what i've been thinking aswell. in my opinion, Hamauzu's music is more musically clever. He produces alot of of different sounds in the background that you can just grasp and produces and amazing atmosphere

  • @kristofori I agree. It takes a little getting used to but it's still awesome in its own right.
