@Pilot10 do you have the rifled slug barrel or the smooth bore? i have a 500 with a rifled slug barrel and the smooth bore that i can put choke tubes in
I think they are a mid range gun. They are a nice gun for me as I only hunt a few times a year. Of course they aren't a Benelli or a Browning or a Remington but I rather have a gun I can knock around and not be that particular with. Walking around in flooded fields and snow I would be a little more hesitant to lay my $1000 gun down while field dressing a deer in the middle of a corn field. I think they are a good gun and I haven't had a problem with it. Good luck with your choice.
sorry for putting all these comments but not all in one, do you just shoot the doe's or do you wait for your trophy, we do push hunts and we all get like 6 or more doe tags, maybe more untill the quota is met
No problem on the comments. Last year was my first time trying to video my hunts. Of the 7 days of the IL. hunting season I was only able to hunt about 3 days due to work and other family plans. The property I hunt isnt mine so I hunt the outskirst and not the prime area which the bigger deer frequent. I give my deer to my girlfriends mom to fill her freezer. She is on a fixed income and this helps with the grocery bill. I might hold out for a bigger buck this year. We will see.
i heard that in a slug gun with a short barrel or any gun with a short barrel u dont shoot 3 inch because not all the powder is burned all the way, but maybe thats only for smooth bore
I have changed this year to the 2 3/4 shell this year after researching the trajectory of the slugs they are very similar. I do use a slug barrel and not a smooth bore. I shot several shots sighting my gun this year and I cannot tell a difference from last year in the change from 3 inch to 2 3/4.
@Pilot10 is this cam worth $116 and what would u rate it how are the day and night pics are there any flaws what would u rate it 1/10 on quility of the whole unit an quility on the photos and how hard is it to use and hows the warrenty
i think the 3 inch shells give you a very little bit more distance but i wouldnt shoot a deer with a slug from more then 60 yards i love the damage they do tho why a shotgun tho i would use a rifle unless you cant were your hunting but great job to say the least good luck this season hope u get the big one that taunts my dreams lol (i wake up sweating when i see him ha ha)
nice shooting...be carefull that last shot bounced back into the box, need soft surface behind...Ive seen them come right back to the shooter...Hunt Hard
Both were good shots and man that doe left one hell of a blood trail, surprised she went 60 yards. Those deer are tough though.
I didn't get anything first season of this year although I did miss a decent 8 point on the day of first season. Looking forward to the end of this week so I can get back out there Thursday morning.
whats the name of the scope you have.

It is a TRUGLO brand. I got it from Cabela's 3 years ago and I have harvested 6 deer with it. I am pretty happy with how it has performed for me.
