This gecko needs to be taken away from him and he needs to be hanged and whipped with steel whipes with spikes on the sides then tossed in a river of sharks and sent through a meatgrinder into a toxic acid pool and obliterated by a nuke.
He does realize that when you grab them from behind ESPECIALLY if you just got it it can drop it's tail from being scarred. I've had mine for a little over a week and I've been putting my hand in his tank twice a day and he's getting use to me and responds to my voice and I'm just now starting to gently pet him you can't just grab at it you have to get it use to you slowly
Even when u had them for 5-6 years they still get stressed by handling. You should ALWAYS and i mean ALWAYS handle them of a maximun of 1 times every 2nd week. Or in my oppinion sell your leopard gecko 'cause your interests in the gecko is clearly handling since u try to pick it up at the 2nd day. If your interests from reptiles is handling THEN DONT GET THEM. They will never like you no matter what, they can't be happy to get picked up like a dog or cat. If u want a pet, THEN GET A PET!
Big woop. Get over yourself. They have different characteristics, I picked up another African Fat Tail today from a local reptile shop, we have several in the area, and the breeder told me that some of them hiss and scream because of being placed into strange new habitats.

all you guy that think that is guy is tormenting this little gecko your fucking dum thay do that when thay are stressed or jest had food so shut that fuck up and leave this guy alown we is going nouthing wrong
Everyone saying they had a geko for so long and never herd them scream. Well my friend owned many hampsters that never screamed. Then we bought one at a store (big mistake) that was not all there and yeah all he did was scream and scream and scream. Open the door he'd scream, roll over in bed, he'd scream. Point is every animal is differnt. So saying he's abusing it right off you know isn't fair, though he should not be provoking his buddy while it's obviously stressed; common sense.
it's a defensive measure. they make those sounds in the wild too, some "bark" others scream, etc. it's just being defensive. they'll bite or drop their tail and run if they get truly "abused"
I've had a leopard gecko for a few years now, and I've never seen one scream before...this is insane. You really should never try to pick them up from behind, especially if they're new.

@Pop77o7 Oh my god. Shut the fuck up mate!? The leopard gecko is clearly just spooked. She's been placed into a bran-new habbitat as well as a knew home, they are bound to be temperamental. Also, this guy only had her 2 days! If she's acting like this for any other reason it is down to her previous owner or breeder. Twat.
@ChristieDarlinn temperamental? I have three leopard geckos, and NONE of them screamed at me at any point of time when they first arrived. And most of the time, you get leopard geckos from a pet store, and I'm pretty sure most breeders are careful with their geckos.
You JUST got the wee one, give a week or 2 before attempting any handling, and when you do try, put something yummy, like a wax worm, on the palm of your hand, DONT MOVE YOUR HAND- even if you get nipped, and wait for her to come to you.
Besides, coming from above like that, and with no sound, you are nothing but a predator to her, she screems to "scare you off"! Always always always teach your pets to recognise your voice and smell!
People are so fucking dumb, if you don't handle a pissy gecko, it won't get tamed. Know your shit before typing dumb shit like, "hey asshole, if he doesnt want to be handled, don't handle him. aparently, you are too stupid to realize that!"
He's not taunting it, it's not like he's grabbing the tail or poking it, or screaming, or spraying it with a water bottle. Calm the fuck down.
She does not like you, and I don't blame her. I think you don't deserve a beautiful gecko like this. Poor little gecko. She deserves much much better than you as her owner.
Can someone tell me why the heck people, i mean guys buy girl pets, and girls buy guy pets??? is this sexism or something?? anyone noticed that? you,ll always hear a guys say her this(when it could be a boy) or a girl say boy that (could be a girl).....??? i heard this alot!! dont do me wrong, cause i know i,am right,,you hear this all the time....it annoys me!

you shouldn't have this amazing animal, 1 you didn't even know how to pick him up safely and comfortably for him, and 2 your abusing him and making him stress witch could intern kill him... stop being a dush to the poor lil guy
Stop trolling. It's abuse if you throw the mother freaking gecko around! It's just scared, maybe feeling independent.

You're going to kill your poor Leopard Gecko with stress. They can only handle so much. You need to keep your hands away from the gecko and let it cool down. Bugging the heck out of it does nothing. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don't push it.
I actually have leopard geckos too, but I only hear them just chirp in joy cutely 'n stuff... So clearly sir, that is what i call, a "GTFA!!!!" scream.
you're stressing her out by continuing to try to pick her up which could make her ill or even kill her. also that enclosure isn't sufficient enough for her. you need to have more stuff in it eg. branches etc and you should have different substrate.
This is not abuse. The leo is new and not familiar. They do that when they are frightened. The more interaction he gives to the leo in a gentle manner, the leo will eventually calm down and not see the handler as a predator. Purposely poking it and being cruel to it is another story.
I got mine 2 or 3 years ago when she was a baby and she's never done that. If she doesn't want me to pick her up, I won't pick her up. Don't be such a douche, dude.
OH.MY.GOD. not only did you torture that poor thing, but you kept going for its tail! NEVER go for an upset (or normal) geckos tail. you realize that if they feel danger on their tail they'll drop it? and it will be replaced with an ugly discolored ball at the end of their body?
Ooo-hoo-hoo... leave your gecko alone. For the first few days of getting one, just sit and watch if anything. No physical contact should be made with your gecko for 3-5 days after getting. Your gecko needs some time to settle in, and you pestering like that is scaring it. Leave it aloooone.
@ibex1002 well either that was luck or they were dead. jk jk but still most newborns scream bloody murder from just opening the lid :P but like i said after a good 2-6 months they grow out of it, unless of course your just that bad at taking care of them then they'll do it all the time :)
okay for one, if you grab it by its tail it can break off you dumb fuck! and for to if your going to treat him/her like tht you shouldnt have one!!!!!!
well number 1. she might be scared by the camera . number 2. shes probably scared by you .number 3.when your trying to pick them up you scoop them up you never grab them by the back legs.
the only time ive heard that noise is when my cat some how got into my leopard geckos enclosure and bit my girl leopard geckos head off and the male screamed like hell

How would you like it if i backed you into a corner and poked you til you cried?
turdfacesaywhaaaa 10 months ago 9
OH.MY.GOD. not only did you torture that poor thing, but you kept going for its tail! NEVER go for an upset (or normal) geckos tail. you realize that if they feel danger on their tail they'll drop it? and it will be replaced with an ugly discolored ball at the end of their body?
BrightEyes10003 10 months ago 3
Poor thing it's so stressed out

Ooo-hoo-hoo... leave your gecko alone. For the first few days of getting one, just sit and watch if anything. No physical contact should be made with your gecko for 3-5 days after getting. Your gecko needs some time to settle in, and you pestering like that is scaring it. Leave it aloooone.
Pickleweries 10 months ago
poor little gecko, she is so cute!! just leave her alone!!

i've never heard a leopard gecko scream and i've handled tons of them- what that is, is taunting and abuse.
ibex1002 11 months ago 33
@ibex1002 oblivious you haven't handled young leo. all they do is this shit. they grow out of it.
aaron95 8 months ago
@aaron95 yes i have handled them- and none of mine did that.
ibex1002 8 months ago
@ibex1002 well either that was luck or they were dead. jk jk but still most newborns scream bloody murder from just opening the lid :P but like i said after a good 2-6 months they grow out of it, unless of course your just that bad at taking care of them then they'll do it all the time :)
aaron95 8 months ago

dillon2220 1 year ago
Du behinderter Depp, du hast doch gar keine ahnung wie man tiere behandelt.
erstens packt man Geckos nicht am Schwanz und zweitens bringt man sein tier nicht absichtlich in stress
