condescending or not, it's how you look at it. as you have mentioned, you do magic as well. yes, for laymen what i've said might be condescending. however, as a performer, he should be able to take constructive criticism and learn from it. but there's no learning from it, he just loves to comment about how good he is instead of trying to polish up his magic and perhaps make himself a real good magician.
