@NIN99Koala True, I have been there - not individual artists, perhaps, but I've worshipped particular bands and films to an unhealthy degree. But it was bad for me, in retrospect. I feel compelled to tell people they're being stupid about it, taking it too seriously, because I really wish someone had told me the same thing back when I was seventeen.

By idolizing and obsessing over artists, you set yourself up for disappointment, because they can't and won't care about you in the same way.

@boiledelephant perhaps, but bands that are good dont put thier heart and souls into thier fans, they put it into thier music, which the fans then hear, and thats why they idolize these bands. If you were to look at the bands people who listen to this music tend to dislike, all of those artists, gaga, jb, rebecca black, theres no heart and osul there, only sex appeal, and the fans eat that up with gravy.
