@IDannyxss It's a TAG Porsche V6 Turbo engine. F1 banned turbos for the 1989 season. At 1987, Ayrton Senna's Lotus 98T's Renault V6 turbo engine produced as high as 1300 bhp @ 5.5bar.

@alceuzinho i think they were down tuned during the race but had all the boost for qualifying. Must have been very hard to drive with 1300hp coming in all at once as the turbo kicks in.

@jcadlols - thanks to the fia restrictions, when turbos are reintroduced...they will still be making around 750bhp. lame.

@f1matt :( haha. Nothing like watching a racedriver try to put down 1300 horsepower that's either there or not through places like Monaco. They should limit capacity but not boost, turbo size or revs. That way you get big power with a fair bit of lag and it'll help turbo development and make driving more difficult. But of course they wouldn't want to look at the big picture. :)

@f1matt you know senna was the first to want to make F1 safer, so maybe your the kind of fna who wants to see a car crahs, and a driver being injured at 250 mph but that's not the essence of racing is it?

@mouloudo I like cars that are faster because they are more of a challenge for the drivers to control and thus more exciting to watch. And I have a sneaking suspicion that all the drivers would want more power if they could have it. Also it shows how meaningless a change to turbos would be. I feel it is just PR to make the sport look more "green". And finally before stating that Senna was the first to make F1 safer, you may want to read up on Sir Jackie Stewart.

@f1matt when I said Senna was the first I meant EVEN senna whose car is presented here wanted a safer F1 and wasn't ok with the safety this mclaren provided of course chaps like Stewart were pioneers ^^ but it's obvious the sport is in crisis, teams are leaving, there's only 3 constructors left , ferrari, mclaren and mercedes, all the other teams being trust companies, and we all know companies are volatile and doesnt care about the sport just promoting their products... F1 has to be cheaper

Actually Williams is the only team left in Formula which exists solely for racing.All those other private teams are long gone, like Tyrrell,Jordan and Brabham

What products does Williams want to promote?? Williams is solely a formula 1 team,not a car manafacturer like Mercedes,Renault,Ferrari and McLaren,and not a energy beverage company like Red Bull (and Toro Rosso).Virgin is Richard Branson's empire,and Force India is Vijay Mallya's

Swiss-based Bank am Bellevue AG will act as sole global co-ordinator of up to 27.39% of existing shares, a total of 2,739,383 shares. @McLarenMercedes 2nd comment: exactly, williams is not a car manufacturer, their only interest is gaininng money... I'm not saying Frank Williams and patrick head are not passionate, I'm only saying that car manufacturers have a " prestige interest" in winning, not just gain money. When william wins, it only benefits them, when a car manufacturers, it reflects on the whole "trademark", plus williams was associated to BMW for a long time, so if you hate on car manufacturers,dont side with william

@me2ontube I don't think so. But if it returns, it will have many mods focused in safety. Can Am, Group B Rally, Turbo-era F1, ITC, and a lot others were categories that are impossible not to miss.
