in my opinion his incline is wrong, you do not come down over lower chest on incline, the whole idea is to hit the upper chest with incline. you should be coming down more over your upper chest. This will not injure you. The way scott did it, he may as well of been flat benching.

@Smitch123 Whatup buddy, i had the same problem for awhile. i lost that pump sensation like my muscles were inflating. You MAY be using your shoulders too much when you do your chest workouts. pay close attention to how some of the proffesional lifters position their arms during a bench. also try and close your eyes and really visualize what muscles your actually using when you lift. focus on getting your form dialed. ALSO i think a big game changer is your mental status.put your game face on!

@xmanrugby try switching your barbell bench press exercises to dumbbell bench press with various hand grips and angles. It might be brosience but it worked for me anyway

If you want to have a good chest you'll have to touch it with the bar, but this is negative for the shoulders... I always stop 4-5 cm from the chest...

Hey Scott, I have a question: At my high school, theyre making us do 10 sets of 10 reps on 2 sets of main core muscles like the chest and legs on one day (so like Squat and Bench). Anyways my question is: How should i change my diet to accustom to this so i can gain the most? My diet is usually lean protein like chicken and vegetables, i usually eat every 2 hours. Your videos are amazing but to someone who is a bit more novice (in the future) when you you were doing the incline bench you said to keep the weight over your chest. I think it would help a lot if the camera person would get a side shot of that so the people watching the video can clearly see what you're talking about when you say that since "little" things like those are very important.

@LoveSeungYeon you know nothing about "Time-Under-Tension", "tempo" or set/rep ranges. And saying the routine isn't good just because it is "only" three exercises is very ignorant. Ohhhhh so if I did a FOURTH exercises... all of a sudden my chest would get huge right? Hrmm.. most routines are 3 sets... so 4x3=12 My routine is 5 sets... 3x5= 15.. Which routine has more working sets?? Next time try the routine before you leave a comment.

im wondering why my chest is not developing under? i have a strong chest, benching 275 max, but all I have development in is the inside and tops of the pecs, i have no line under or even hint of one...ive cut down to 7% body fat before and still had the problem? does it have anything to do with me being chubby in the past? please if anyone has info for me, let me know,thank you so much!

Out of curiosity then... do these tempos actually work for all other muscle groups? Like can i do the 1-1-3 or 2-2-4 tempos for tricep and shoulder workouts? and can/should the amount of weight vary between sets?
@grisgrisdoctor the slower you go, the more muscle fibres you tear, hence the added hypertrophy. It seems slow at first, but you get used to it soon enough and you can feel the tear a lot more that way
have you ever had braces or were your teeth just straight to begin with ? and great vid scott gonna use that tempo with my chest exercises from now on to mix it up.
Im just wondering when you say to keep our lower back towards the pad the WHOLE time, what do you mean by that? Because naturally I do arch it a little bit, as I can see you do as well 4:49
@nickenic12 Well, for the most part, you want your butt on the pad. If you are benching with a HIGH ARCH, then yes your back will dome off the pad, but that should only be done by experienced lifters with a strong core :)

im wondering why my chest is not developing under? i have a strong chest, benching 275 max, but all I have development in is the inside and tops of the pecs, i have no line under or even hint of one...ive cut down to 7% body fat before and still had the problem? does it have anything to do with me being chubby in the past? please if anyone has info for me, let me know,thank you so much!

Hmmm, how important is tempo? I've always gone slow but that 2-2-4 is super slow.

@grisgrisdoctor the slower you go, the more muscle fibres you tear, hence the added hypertrophy. It seems slow at first, but you get used to it soon enough and you can feel the tear a lot more that way

Im just wondering when you say to keep our lower back towards the pad the WHOLE time, what do you mean by that? Because naturally I do arch it a little bit, as I can see you do as well 4:49

@nickenic12 Well, for the most part, you want your butt on the pad. If you are benching with a HIGH ARCH, then yes your back will dome off the pad, but that should only be done by experienced lifters with a strong core :)
