Not a great demo. It's like I'm hearing a demo of how a Bogner Alchemist would sound at my next gig. Complete with loud disinterested crowd murmurs and somewhat lazy disaffected playing. I think I stumbled into a NAMM teaser or something. I need to find a real review now.

Hard to explain in a easy way, but it have something with the resistance in the speakers to do. You must have the right ammount resistance or more on the speakers to not burn down the amp, if I've gotten it right.

"8 ohm pair" is if u have 2 speakers

"4 ohm single" is if you have 1 speaker

So the ammount of "ohm"(resistance) on the speaker have to be the same ammount or more, to what stands on the amp.

This is the Alchemist not the Spider Valve. This is not a line 6 amp. Look it up! The line 6 gear is over to the left. Dumb asses!

the bogner shiva with the el34's is one of the best amps ive ever heard,and that includes the dumbel range,,,but this amp just dont sound good, its more line 6 than bogner,,,if you like the line 6 sound then fine,,,,,but this really does sound trash to me and yes ive played it,,shame , because bogner has made some great amps,,

@omegaguitars ..actually, the Alchemist line is a Line 6 collaboration, built in China by Line 6's factory and distributed by Line 6.

@intrsoul, Thanks for the correction. I really like the Alchemist every time I get to plug into one. I was hoping to be able to pick one up, but was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and have put all else on hold while being treated for it.

I just bought this amp. the 2x12 combo.

the speakers are fuckin badass. Never heard 40 watts sound so booming. The drive channel sounds really good, especially with the cool lil "Punch" switch and "boost" switch. But the clean is nothing special.... so emotionless... you can get a better clean sound out of the drive channel with a really low gain. Honestly, im thinking of taking it back : /

i just love the clean sound of a fender. I want the Super Sonic, but 1X12 isn't enough for 60 watts :(

This is a great sounding amp. I just bought the head today. Everyone who heard it at Guitar Center said it sounding awesome.

The built in effects are legit, too! The delays are very warm. The boost also gives you just the right amount of kick, IMHO.

This amp is definitely worth a look!

I have to laugh at so many of the responses to this video. I'll bet none of you have actually played through the amp before you commented. The sound is coming from a YOU TUBE VIDEO. Like it's supposed to be top quality audio or something. Sheesh.

Anyway, I've played through a Spidervalve and this one. There is no comparison. The Line 6 is a cheaply made amp period.

Good Gawd! Totally agree. This amp totally puts the what? "spider valve"????? to shame, ridiculous comparison. It's like comparing a 20 once steak, grilled to perfection and a single chicken mcnugget. Absurdity, play them next to each other...I just played this amp, seriously considing buying it now, great warm, incredibly powerful tone. Listening to it here sounds like it is filtered through a couple thick pillows...and it STILL sounds good.

I play threw a 59 Bassman ,and a blues DeVille both have four 10s and they kick ass ,Fender always did it for me,and I have owned marshalls messa s ,there all great ,but i love the fender tone the most.

Oh come off it!

In the UK the amp is cheaper than most decent all valve heads.

The amp is built in Line 6`s factory , so, you could argue that it is an overpriced line 6.

Then again, given that many factories in the far east build products for various "own brand" stores as well as the big names.

The SV is a great amp...

Buyer Beware. Pay close attention to 2 things. 1. its "made in china" not at the USA Bogner warehouse. 2. and the "show me the money" comment by Bogner at the LA amp show. Its my opinion that he has whored himself and his good name out to Line 6 for mega dough. Don't be fooled!!!!!! This is essentially an overpriced Spidervalve. NOT at all worthy of the $ 1400.00 price tag. If you don't believe me just check the warranty info. The Alchemist is warrantied and serviced by LINE 6NOT Bogner!!

I played this amp today ( Check out Gear Trials ) It has an amazingly good sounding clean channel. Sparkly warm cleans. The gain channel is pretty nice for rock and heavy blues

Yup, bad demo - I'm not a pro or a spoiled rich boy, so I don't have a "real" Bogner, Budda, etc... but I tried out the alchemist at a trade show and I'll tell you, I found it to be one of the most explosive, responsive, and versatile amps there. Maybe it's because I don't play metal, just high energy blues & rock, but I loved it. And for around $1100 for a 2x12 combo, with the tone and features it has - 40 or 20 watts, 2 channels, tone switches, and built in DSP, it is one hell of a bargain.

i am glad i jumped to the Budda bandwagon long time ago.

That amp, regarding it is a clip, doesn't sound good , at least in the clip.

There are some great sounding videos on YT , so don't give me the wait till you play it.

At least you get the idea of the sound, and i don't like it a bit, it sounds "dry", without character.

it really doesnt matter that its made in China America produces 25% of the worlds goods (one country produces 25% wow... so outsourcing is really a manifestation of the media trying to scare us) but the amp does sound like shit i have a 2006 Bogner Shiva and it blows it away

but the quality control in china could be less

i think its the camcorder quality audio that sounds bad. the volume level is overdriving the camcorder mic. i've heard comments from people who were there that said it sounded great.
