With 85% of his business in Commercial and 15% in Consumer. Michael is enormously exposed to the growth in that area.

With the Consumer boom especially in developing countries where consumers have no PCs and are first time buyers. Guess what they are going out and buying Acer and HP. And hence the slip into 3rd position from no.1 world wide.

Reason I bought a Dell is because of the great discount I got. I then realized after owning a few that the Reliability is pretty high. Of course I bought an XPS (There highest end) so I would expect this.

Interesting to hear about Dell's recent hard time. I was suckered into buying a Dell Printer Scanner, for about £80 or $175, I can print about 12 LOUSEY A4 size photographs. then I had to buy more lousey ink for it! It's now a dust collector! But Hey! the laptop is great! That Factory Virus-Fix Service is a dream come true! Michael, just sack the "get-rich-quick" slick sales folk, and Dell will grow and grow!

Tried to order a Dell M2010 but Dell would not sell it without Microsoft Windows. I refused to subsidize Microsoft. I ordered an iBook Pro.

It was stupid for that guy to sell the rights to dos, and it was stupid for IBM to let microsoft keep the rights to their software. Also, though the Alto had the first GUI, windows 95 made one of the best and most stable GUI operating systems ever made

Yes, Vista is offered on new systems. Some systems can still be configured with XP. Soon some systems will also be available with Ubuntu.
