  • Where is this class ?

  • FEAST! in malay, makan besar [makan : eat, besar : big]

  • @tomamoa show me any martial art that teaches all techniques at full speed. Buahs are used to teach student different techniques in different situations. You

May/will not use a full buah from start to finish but the techniques within the buah work at any speed. As said by 9sanskrit. The more techniques(fruit) you have, the better the outcome(feast).

  • Tuan Guru Liam : forgive me my thoughts and thanks for sharing with us your art of silat

  • it is not for me to say one is better than the other : i guess it comes down to individual preferences n choice

  • it can be a long process < if u need to learn quick go army : tempur tanpa senjata [unarmed combat] or BASD [basic self defence] i love aikido too < the steps in aikido is advanced level in silat

  • in silat u are taught the step : tapak and the flowers [bunga] and the buah [fruit]. Proper step and beautiful flowers will lead to delicious fruit < opinion < sometimes u have to learn the buah first to understand the tapak and the bunga

  • so if u have learnt 33 basic fruits at level 1 [different silat have different methodology] and from each move u can get 3 variations [u are limited only by your imagination] then at the end of the day u will have 99 fruits to eat < and these 99 can be further fractionalized into other variations

  • the more buah [fruits : moves] u have, the more u are prepared to face any opponent. Moves have to be memorized until they become part of u. Then u come to a level where your guru will instruct u to create variations on the moves u have learnt. It is called Pechahan [fractions]. Each buah can have at least 3 pechahan minimum < opinion

  • in any martial art, moves have to be learnt no matter how unrealistic they might seem.. It is the way to reach that level in combat where everything becomes crystal clear and u are adrenalized and u will have the right moves in any situation < it is also the same with soldiers in war < in the far east it is called Zen < opinion

  • Now i understand ,why the Great Aleksander win in all battles against these nations!!!!!

  • You should show this technique with the attacker's arm being retracted after the punch, without their arm hanging in mid-air. You'll still be able to complete the technique because your right hand will still come over the top to open and extend the arm for the follow-up elbow destruction.

  • @MagnusRBHunter there is no way in holy hell this technique or most of the Buahs being shown are anything close to realistic so someone hanging their arm in the air only adds to the fantasy bullshit we see here. It's ok, though. Some people like to practice this stuff.

  • I especially like the shoulderblade transition to keylock. silat has a lot of nice technique in it

  • ouch id never come back from that!

  • nice..they wearing 'samping'..

  • Great!This skill came from Malaysia/Indonesia right?

    Thanks for sharing this video.

  • yup your corect!!
