I've been trying to find a recording of this version of the theme. The only one I can find is not as dramatic. Anyone know where to find this more dramatic version?
@spacepatrolman I'll bet you are right. By this time Arnaz spent most of his time drinking and womanizing. I hadn't noticed Quinn Martin's name as "executive producer." I guess he must have formed his own production company a few years after "The Untouchables."
In syndication, am I led to believe there is a black-and-white Paramount Television "Split Rectangle" (Lalo Schifrin jingle - 1970s syndication) or "Blue Mountain" (again Lalo Schifrin jingle - 1980s syndication) at the end?
classic piece of gripping sixties telly, the whole show was a masterpiece, loved the show and the whole caboudle, even the narrator was born to speak over the episodes, just brilliant entertainment, stayed up many a night watching it on an old echo black and white set, that a neighbour so kindly made available to a struggling family who didnt have electricity back in 66 in old lancashire ,
@bobszvetics1 The mad dog col episode didnt have him shooting 4 babies and killing one like in real life the gun of zangara really did kill joseph cermak the mayor of chicago by mistake when he wanted to kill roosevelt the untouchable probably never gaurded the big 3 at tehran or went to a nazi ralley in madison square garden
This was one VIOLENT show, telling you! People were getting shot from the back, from the front, from head to toe. And even when they weren't, there was always a sleazy type of dread that hung over everything. Interesting names in the credits: composer Nelson Riddle ("Route 66"), Jerry Paris ("The Dick Van Dyke Show"), Lloyd Nolan ("Julia").
@JadeFroggy. Here's the intro. By the way, check out the list of guest stars on Wikipedia --- it's an American Who's-Who of acting.

Definitely a Desilu production. Many of the behind-the-scenes names in the closing credits are the same as in "I Love Lucy."
