Madeira is such a beautiful place and the people so friendly, this is so sad!!! I hope they get the chance to clean up and get the chance to cool down soon. RIP all those who died :(

This was just rain? It looked like hurrican forced wind aided, tidal surge, storm surge. The weather sattellites didn't pick this storm up as it was blowing into Madeira. If this the shape of storms to come along the coastlines in the world, then those of us need some alerts. This was some fierce water flow. Getting up and out ot this requires some alert. How do you get people off bridges & out of traffic as this storm type crashes in.
