  • what this guy said about this album i got the same thing out of it

  • Nas, Wu Tang Clan, DMX are the realest rappers out there right now.

  • Untitled is better than Illmatic. Untitled is the best lyrical effort by NaS.

  • @EmceeLaureate most overlooked and prolific rap album in the last decade no doubt.

  • @bobbybenjamin You are seriously right. This album was a true gem. A major label album doesn't get much deeper than Untitled. You'd have to be really intune to get the album. It was a perfect album for the time too. I don't care what anyone says, this album was one of the greatest ever.

  • @EmceeLaureate That's what I'm saying. People just can't let go of Illmatic. Untitled was better and just a true gem.

  • "Top ten lyricist of all time"

totally disagree. Nas is the greatest lyricist i've ever heard and I dont think there are 9 other guys who can be compared to Nas. I got illmatic and I am... and i'll definitly am gonna get untitled.

  • Dope! Search Fetti Profoun he makes similar music

  • this album had some good songs but i feel the first few tracks are skipable which really annoyed me but there are a few good beats/quotables but an average album in terms to what else came out the same year

  • but, you know, i like nas as a rapper especially now as he has grown up as a person and let go of all this front'n crap and is making good music - finally .. ¬.¬ - one of my fav singles in a while was the "black president" about obama - what a tune!! :p

  • the only good nas albums were - hip-hop is dead, street's disciple and untitled - illmatic was so so but definitely the most overrated hip-hop album of all time - i mean some people argue that its better than it takes a nation of millions to hold us back??! :S WTFFFFFF?! :S :p

  • Nas is king of NY

Jay Z almost took the Crown with that Blueprint- Takeover shit but... Nas came back with Ether

finished Jay Z off and made him King of NYC

All God Son did was seal the deal...lol

Hip Hop is Dead... smh, you know how many Hip Hop figures was going crazy over that *cough* south *cough*

Untitled, just showed what the Government really is

Jay Z may be the richest rapper but he aint King of NY... I can never say that, I stop listening to him After The Black Album

    Nas da greatest

  • they wouldn't have used Black President because Nas also doubts Obama. Asking will he keep it real and stuff

  • wtf diverse world order? is that a pun on the New World Order?

  • WORD UP

  • i agree wit him to the fullest from 1:22 to 2:00 !!! stole dem words from my mind mayn

  • Album is a 5 mic for sure. They complained about beat selection, so Nas improved that. Other than the beats nothing was holding him back in the past two albums, now that he fixed that shit up the album is a classic. Not quite on par with I am, or illmatic, but still in his top three for sure.

  • Yeah I agree with most comments you made!! "Were not alone" had that weird background scratchy sound didn't like that thought that song had potential

  • If he was really reading the comments he would see that more people like nas than lil wayne or soulja boy. Read all the comments. Nas is the best and is in his own category. Stop making comparisons with him and lil Wayne. Lil Wayne been around for 10 years and came out with that garbage album

  • Fuck lil wayne, nigga can eat a dick.

Listen to that clown harp on about how the beat goes in (let the beat build) for fucking 2 solid minutes, he's a whiny, auto-tune using faggot.

Nas never needed anything but his own voice and mind to make great music.

take the beats away and he's still flawless. Take the effects, and beat away from lil wayne and you've got some junkie-looking clown that weezes like his name states. Real talk.

  • so it could bend over lol it don't matter any ways all these rappers are in the fraternal orders/Illuminati/freemasons

  • Nas is the best rapper out now, the real hip hop heads like him and the dumb fucks who also listen to lil wayne n soulja boy still like him.

  • great album. nas the only rapper that stands up for hip hop. Hip Hop was dead but nas bought it back.

  • I would say 4.5 stars.

It misses out on 5 coz as ravi says it isnt groundbreaking. But damn it's good.

  • I have to disagree with the reviewer about the track "We're Not Alone." I think the message of the hook really hits deep and enhances the song overall.

  • Untitled is one of his BEST ALbumsS!and Hes THE ONLY ONE!in the GAME RIGHT NOW thatz ACually being a MAN!And stating "E NEED TO CHANGE"THis IZ what Hip-Hop Waz Sendding Messages and Have Meannings And Untitled is the only album thatz Done that So Far in 2008!!GO NAS!!

  • Sorry itz spoussed to say "We Need To Change"..but anyway i would Give Untitled 5/5StarZ!ItS A Classic in its own RIGHT...

  • untitled-lyrically his best album ever

    illmatic-best flow/good production

    godson-best produced nas album

    stillmatic-battle n winner

  • i'd add It was Written - Best Themed Album/Story Telling

  • I really like "I Gave You Power". I showed it to a Lil Wayne fan. I think he was waiting for stupid/worthless punchlines and similes that relate to stuff in popular culture. Damn people my age (17yrs) wouldn't know a good hip-hop album if one hit them in the face. Peace.

  • Illmatic is better obviously

But this album is a 5 mics after listening to it acouple of more times.

    This is nasty bro.

  • no. How can u put ILLMATIC and stillmatic over Nigger?? WTF???

  • he says i think nas is top 10 and most are not gonna agree...what who doesnt have nas on their top 5?

  • anyone with lil wayne in their top 10. haha.

  • lmao good one quuins26 but yeah was on datpiff listening to mixtapes and i came across two rappers that just stood out to me...one name was E-Gutta and the other was young hallowtip...i just started laughing like wow thats so ignorant its funny...is this what hip hop is now? nd i swear if i hear another name that starts with young...or gutta...E-Gutta? ethernet gutta? lmao get the fuck out of here lol

  • Terrible review. That album is classic and tops Illmatic. It is a groundbreaking album if people only opened their ears.

  • honest review=terrible review? come on. Its a great album no doubt, but since purchasing this I can honestly say I have listened to Illmatic more times than Untitled. Its good, but no Illmatic.

  • Get off that "It's no Illmatic." The album stands on its own. It's a revolutionary album. This is the realest you'll get from a mainstream artist. He touches on all major topics, the lyrics are potent, his delivery is the best in years, and the beats are good. Besides Around the World, there isn't even one good track, they're all great. He outdid Illmatic finally, accept it and let go.

  • I certainly agree with most of your points, but I still believe Illmatic is the better of the two. At this quality level of hip-hop, we are talking about making the choice between two extraordinary albums as to which one is better. Illmatic is about as close to perfection as an album can get. There are NO flaws. The only problem that can be found is in the album length. Untitled has a few issues, but without doubt puts just about every release this year to shame.

  • So that IS a flaw then. There are alot of people like you who would never admit that Nas released something better than Illmatic.

  • Because the album was so perfect, we all wanted more of it. This is a natural reaction. There is no flaw in the album. I would have no problem saying that Untitled was better than Illmatic if it was.

  • It was so perfect yet you named a flaw it had??? Make up your mind. Clearly it's the biased nonsense.

  • Riiight, it is quite clear what I said. Illmatic is the better album. Is that clear enough for you? My only bias comes from the recognition of which is the better of the two albums. Many agree, many disagree, but honesty is the best policy. The review is as honest as you are going to see. Now as far as semantics goes, if the only problem with an album is that it is so good you want more, is that really a problem or the best praise you can give? Think about it.

  • Don't talk as if it's fact. I feel that Illmatic was produced better (in terms of beats) than Untitled. Other than that, Untitled is on par with Illmatic. Untitled definately tops Illmatic in terms of lyrics and intelligence, but Illmatic has the flow and the beats. Both very different albums, meaning that you have to react better to different opinions, which are expected.

  • Of course Illmatic is better produced than Untitled. Nas, after It Was Written, has had terrible production on all his albums.

  • not entirely. stillmatic gods son have great beats

  • That I can partially agree on you faggot. People just need to get over the biased and admit it's at least on par with it.

  • it did NOT top illmatic not even stillmatic toped it

  • doesnt top illmatic but is definately 9.99 stars

  • i got the album bumpin right now!

  • I think Nas came back to make lil wayne stfu with that best rapper alive shit. I think Nas would tear up wayne. Im just waiting for shit to happen. Might hear another ether, except this time on wayne.

  • that would be a great day

  • Nice review i agree with you in most of your points, but i don't know what was wrong with Nastradamus. to me is was a nice album back to Untitled this album simple put Nas in a different planet from other rappers.

  • the production was that of a retarded baby thats what it was.. the beats were puttin niggas to sleep.. the mainstream doesnt have ears for lyrics remember that. thats why lil wayne is considered amazing by mainstream

  • wait...

2pac/rakim/krs one are better than nas?

    well..

nas beat krs one after his first album..

    nas beat rakim after stillmatic

nas beat 2pac by his overall work.

whos better than nas? seriously.. 2pac? gtfo

rakim's skill comes close but he cant fuck with him bc he hasnt released as much shit as nas..

you guys gotta wake up, nas is the GOAT

  • This is a diferent type of album for Nas. He used to rely mainly on lyrics and less on subject matter. And a lot of artistic impression (U Gave Me Power)or (Rewind).

"Lil nigga name Nas think he live like me/ Talkin' bout he left the hospital, took 5 like me"

If Nas and Pac would've had an actual battle, Pac got that one. Nas uses so many Pac refrences, you can't deny the fact that Nas looked up to him. But one more cd this solid and he's a definate candidate for the crown.

  • candidate for the crown...

    youre a moron

he already has the crown, he had the crown since it was written.. ask big

and just because pac said that shit doesnt mean shit, pac looked up to nas too... pac was twisted in the head and nas woulda murdered him if he had to.. he was gonna release a track but they reconciled their beef

    get it str8

  • Thik 1st b4 u talk...

Damn, u act like I said Nas was garbage. He's been my favorite emcee since I Am! And who's to say which would be a better emcee to this date.

You have to admit that there was a rush to "fill the void" left by Pac and Big. 90% of the dudes out wouldn't have careers if they hadn't died.

  • if youre gonna give someone advice, at least spell it right..

youre the typical moron whos fed bullshit.. use your ear.. pac cant fuck with nas his rhymes and lyrics cant touch nas and his flow is the only thing he can really have over nas.

what does them dying have to do with nas vs pac?... and im not acting like you said hes garbage, but to say pac(the most overrated rapper) is better than nas(one of the most underrated rappers) is amazing.

  • dope review.. nas' status as an all-time top-10 lyricist is not questionable, though!

  • Nas has had a questionable albums in his catalog, but what is not questionable is his spot in the top ten lyricist. He will hold down a spot on that list forever.

  • Why would anyone say Nas isn't in the top ten hell the only rappers I would put above him is Rakim, Krs-One, Jay-Z & 2Pac. Nas Untitled is one of best cds in a long time everyone go out and buy it.

  • its a 10 out of 10 for me this is one of those albums that change your whole out look on the genre of hiphop and like how you view the world around you

  • 1st off...definately a top 5 emcee

Then, I have to disagree and say this album is groundbreaking. The title may have change but everyone stills knows it as "Nigger". He takes you on a detailed journey with historic ideals.

This album "should" be nominated for every award out there for transcending scocieties image of rapping and instead being more of an author who uses rap as a vehicle. I literally felt like a had read a book when the cd ended.

  • I encourage everybody to listen to this album. Buy it...download it...borrow it from a friend...burn it...share it. Shit I got the edited version because the cd is sold out almost everywhere you go.

Still...big ups for the review homey. You're doing a great job! AND CHECK OUT MY MUSIC VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PROTOTYPE of BURGHTOWN

  • I agree. This album is a must listen and buy.

    thanks for the props!

  • oh its an 11/10 for it's a really great album

  • yup top 5

  • top 10? should be top 5 bitch

  • on the sly fox video, y is the guy clickin on the cursor usin the right click

  • i got the album and lvinig it hero and world go round wow dope and amazing lyrics

  • i wish my young people in the black community would go out and buy this album. man this dude is trying to educate the weak minded and let the people know whats goin on. FUCK THE AMERICAN GOV... YALL WONT BRAINWASH MY PEOPLES INTO MAKING THEM STUPID WITH ALL THIS NONSENSE.

  • i bought it and im really happy with it fuck downloading

  • I agree, EVERY song on Nas' new album is good. That album is a 20 out of 10

  • nice review but this album ain't no 8.5. it's a 10! fuckin 10! classic! period!

  • Of couse the new album isn't better than illmatic, Biggie's "Ready To Die" or Jay's "Reasonable Doubt" those are gound breaking...Nas the Best MC period. This is the best album in the past 3yrs.

  • CLASSIC

  • ALBUM IS 9.5 OUTTA 10

  • real talk! My favorite track is breathe

  • damn i need that marcus garvery t shirt.

  • i believe its all that stuff politacal, lyrical, spiritual, isn't that what hip hop is though to me it may be one of nas's illest albums and for the record this album is a 9 and he's probably the best emcee ever peace..

  • ..this Untitled album is definitly one of Nas's classic albums... great lyrics, smooth beats and the stuff he is trying to put across seems to put this album on anotha level..certainly one of his best..support real hiphop n go out n get a copy...stop downloading people!!

  • your review was wack!!! this album is ground breaking!!!!

  • Alright, please explain to us why the album was groundbreaking...

  • yo this is how i see it..

I got every nas album, including the lost tapes, mixtapes, QB stuff, but he has these hidden jems that don't even make albums, like 'on the real' 'understanding' that jus set this man apart from any other mc

    1. Nas

    2. Rakim

    3. Inspectah Deck (Wu Tang), Big L

    4. AZ, GZA (Wu Tang)

    5. Common, KRS One, Ice Cube

    6. 2Pac

  • Great Review!!!! I totally agree, I totally believe with the type of beats he has on the album be wants you to clearly hear his lyrics!!

Pick the album up!!! Support real Hip Hop!!!

  • im filling this man

  • Nas is definetely top 5 MC of all time, i understand that people have different opinions but as is a muts on top 5 lists and top 3 lyricist...

  • I don't think anyone would disagree with Nas being in the top 5 lyricisrts of alltime much less ten.

  • Nas is not the best never is never will be,but i do agree he is ahead of his time lyrically

  • i give it a 6 or a 7 everything is nas saying is true but havent we been hearing all this for years(tupac, kweli, common, mos def, dead prez)im a nas fan but this album is to preachy couple of good songs that are lyrically incredible but gets to repeatitive after the first 6 tracks talking about calling blacks nigger fox this, this and that i got the point lol its more of a politacly statement than a hip hop album

  • hey great video bro i like the review you did but i like the whole album i do agree about the hook being a little forced in but nonetheless another CLASSIC by Nas

I talk boxing on my show so if your interested check it out pe@ce bro

  • nas is the best that cant be discussed.

i dont agree with this guy's opinion about the untitled track, i think its a perfect song interesting lyrics and awesome beat

  • In my oppinion, Nas is the greatest MC of all time... dead or alive, he's the realest and he's still keeping it real. Great album.

  • i feel that nas is ahead of his time. anything and everything that comes out of his mouth is totally different and unlike any artist. i love nas to tha death, hes top 5 dead or alive, peace

  • fuck no i toattly agree with you man. hes def. the best lyricist of all time and best mc ever

  • da illest mc of all times.''u hear me?? all times!!!

  • i agree. i really liked this album. Nas is my favorite mc and im glad that the album was good ive been lookin forward to it for a long time. hero is really good. i liked the sly fox track too. i recomend it to anyone. LISTEN TO THE LYRICS. peace.

  • Cool review. Love the album, but I got to give it a 9 out of 10, just because it's Nas.
