In my comment I wanted to say that Turkey, by her political and cultural criteria, is in many ways the European country, but, in spite of this, in my opinion she is still more the Asian country than the European one, although many things make her close to Europe.
@charlieiscool1000 Turkey and Russia are most definately European. Israel, on the other hand, just wishes it was because it's fallen out with all its neighbours. Hence why they enter the EUROvision song contest

UR a massive tit. Wen I studied EU law 4 undergrad studies I gave a presentation on Turkey's bid 4 EU accession & reported on Russia's possible future accession. This is what I used to do at least. Later, they changed it to something more quiet, more appropriated for a serious news TV show. That probably was their biggest mistake : if they had released a single instead, the channel would have made a lot of money :-)
@darwincity personally i like the recent euronews take of the weather much better. the channel's logo, the music and their style are in perfect harmony with the selected ultra-minimalism.
very nice but weather of 1998 was better and at music and at analysis...i want to put a document of that if you can find...

I live in Germany and saw Euronews in English the first time, that was 1999.
I liked it really.
In 2002 I went to Greece and decided to watch that channel in the evening and was disapointed: Was in German!
