@ijerry1 it also requires a new sawblade and a sometimes a new motor. The Blade gets fully destroyed in the process of braking it, and the motor also often takes damage.
But you are right. Sawstop is like what? 70-80 Bucks, and a new motor and sawblade for lets say 500. Still cheaper than a cut of finger.
@ijerry1 I had the same opinion as you? However you do not cut your finger off every day and as long as the device is not affected by damp (which I think it maybe?) Then lets see it rolled out by all Manufacturers.
dude i saw a problem when cutting wood USE THE FENCE IDIOT

@minermen16 and it is precisely because of people using tools carelessly that this is such a good invention.

Wish we had one because my friend cut about an inch of his finger off in one of these things.

---If you want to see the inventor, Type in ------ SAWSTOP in Time Warp. Great video.

Well, it stuffs up the saw blade, and it requires a new brake cartridge - both of which are a lot cheaper than a new finger.
There is a demo elsewhere that shows the inventor using his own finger - he was barely scratched. Now that is putting faith in your own invention!

it fucks the saw up tho... and possibly the machine... its not designed for several demonstrations, just for that one time accident.

if he had used his own finger for the demo, it would have been better
