  • It is hell and I can't believe so few people know about it. I am 13 weeks lost 14pounds hospitalised 3 times so far, been on 4 different drugs and it's not getting any better

  • helpher.org, Hebrew Pregnancy on FB

  • there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am almost 8 weeks post partum, and recovering from HG. My baby is beautiful and healthy.

However I was told another pregnancy was not recommended.

  • @waterstorm79 im on my second HG pregnancy and I will NEVER do it again

  • Im 15 weeks into a HG pregnancy. My first pregnancy. It is cruel when ppl tell you, its just morning sickness it will pass soon. Well. uhm..when??

I have been hospitalized twice and lost 10 kg. I didnt want to use meds, so I tried acpuncture, and it has really changed my day! I vomit a couple of times a week, its nothing compared to the hell I was in a few feeks ago! I dont have an apetite at all, but i force some food down.

I have to lie down most of the day so I wont vomit or feel nauseas

  • That's me to a T. Even on the same chemio medication

  • This is my 2nd time around with HG. This time is much worse. I even wake up throwing up in the middle of the night. Zofran doesnt work for me. Im afraid to take anything else. I pray every waking hour for this to go away. Sometimes I would rather die than go through one more day of this.

  • I am 16 weeks and still sooooo sick. I relate to what you are saying about waking up. First time I was sick when I would wake up, this time the nausea wakes me up earlier and earlier all the time.

  • @pmcncrystal I understand 100% you hang in there!

  • I had hyperemis in January 1997. I lost 30pounds from January to Feb. I was hospitalized twice for about 6-8 days. The only treatment really was IV treatment of lipids and vits and minerals. Bland diet and ensure and no noise and no lights and not be socialable at that time.

I ended up gaining on 18 pounds back throughout rest of pregnancy. My daughter ended up being healthy weighing 6 lbs 8oz 19.5 inches.

I started prepregnancy at 172 lost 30 then gained 18 then lost 17 postpartum

  • I'm, also, getting my tubes tied after this one's born. I can't and won't go thru it again. At one point after my 10th time throwing up that morning my 7yo came in tha bathroom with a tear in his eye and asked if I wuz dying.. That's when I knew I wasn't overexaggerating my sickness. I luv my sons but I'm done. Never again.

  • I'm currently 26wks preg and this is my 2nd HG pregnancy. With my first son it was morning noon and evening sickness till I started my 2nd trimester. I didn't wanna take meds b4 then. With phennergan I got sick only once in tha morning. With this, my 2nd son, I started meds at 9wks preg after I lost 10lbs in 2wks. Thank u Zofran! I have 2 take 1 every morning and unless I sleep thru taking my pill no sickness! If I skip my a.m. Dose I'm sick all day.

  • I'm glad someone is getting the word out about HG. It is hard enough to feel so sick... then people are insensitive and clueless about hyperemesis, but ignorantly give advice and make rude comments, assuming it is just "morning sickness". This is my second HG pregnancy. I won't be having any more children after this. It bothers me that hyperemesis made this decision for us. I can't go through being so sick again, esp. since it tends to worsen with subsequent pregnancies. I hope they find a cure.

  • I had it..it was so bad i wanted to die...i want another child BUT I wish I could find treatment of this before i do..

its so miserable, all you can do is lay there an waste away

  • Im dealing with this now, I feel like Im dying. I hate this so much!

  • I'm dealing with Hyperemesis now and only 11 weeks pregnant. I'm not as bad as the ladies portrayed in this video, though. It's an awful illness that sucks the life and joy right out of you! Nobody knows about this, though, and I keep having to explain to people that it's "not just morning sickness." Thanks for posting this so that others can be educated on this terrible illness!

  • I had it so bad that a food tube was inserted into my arm, and I had a pump that would pump zofran into my blood constantly. My daughter would ask my husband if I was depressed or suffering from eating disorders behind my back. I got better at about 5 months and now have a healthy 7 year old daughter.

  • Thanks for posting this clip - anyone know of the Dr. Phil show that talked about Hyperemesis?

I had one HG pregnancy so far and I hope for more children in the future but am terrified of the hyperemesis. Still, having my daughter is worth every terrible moment of the suffering...now if only they could find a cure or a decent drug to help alleviate the symptoms.

  • That chick forgot to say every waking AND SLEEPING moment!! Great to get this out here. People's ignorance is infuriating.

  • Thank you for giving your time and your concentrated efforts to raising awareness. I wish the HER Foundation had been around when I had been pregnant with my first. What a great community of women helping women you have online! Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you! More people need to know about this...there is far too little that people and even Doctors know about HG.

  • thank you so much for posting this!

    I am a HG survivor

  • Thanks for posting this honey! I think everyone on our site is going to be using this link now. Thank you and hope that you are doing well!

  • Awesome! Thanks!
