When it became wrong to believe in right and wrong, and parents were condemed for disciplining their kids (without abusing them) is when the world got dangerous.
What happened? America forgot how to grab it's balls and man up. The Government is so scared that someone with power or money will get mad at them, they have turned into a bunch of "yes men". Nut up America. Tell the rick to f@$# off and take charge!
our whole class year is one of around 90-100 and thats the biggest freshman class our high school has had, I'm in the east tennessee mountains, and even in MI where a reg. class (ive heard) is like 900, my jaw dropped and I couldnt believe that many kids were in one school, i LOVE the rural area, its my home
"....and a good WHOOPING still worked".......I'd never condone abusing another human be it a child or an adult. In some cases it should still be permitted. Try it now and you know what'd happen. Sad but true. "That's How It Still Oughta Be".
Love the song ! I know personally not to trust no preacher,b/c my mother married a pedophile, she has 4 girls.I got away from them when I was a couple of months away from being 18 .He lived (if he's still alive b/c my mother isn't) in Columbiana,AL.the last I heard married to another woman with girls.Roland there is a special hell just for sickos like you.
People living in big cities must be accustommed to their surroundings, but I'll tell you what--there's no comparison to living in rural U.S.A. or even in a small town of only a couple thousand.
I wouldn't choose to live anywhere else. I know a lot of folks that have lived in big cities that move to the small town where I now live, and they are just taken back by the all around good will of people.
I know what ya mean, I live just outside of a reasonably big city, and I don't like it. I'd much rather live farther out. I'd absolutely HATE to live in a big city.
Thank God there are still families in blue collar America that still try to instill these same values into our children that ours parents did. This song brings it all back--playing hide and seek in the cornfields, helping dad with the hogs, going out swimming or having a cookout with friends every weekend, and going to church on Sundays and Wednesdays.
When I was a kid, we played outside with play guns or our bikes--not video games and cell phones.
I think America.. Should stop what there doing.. and see waht they've done.. Familys need to sit and eat together.. and your child wont learn if you dont tech em' wrong, from right.. back then was the good days..
I think that the way we are today is a chose And in my house we choose to live like those days. I got my but whiped but I am still here and I am doing fine and raising my two kids the same way So this song is ausome
What happened? can anyone tell me what the hell happened to us all? Why have we lost our way and our values? why aren't we willing to pick ourselves up and become what we were once, We had strong leaders, integrity, families that cared enough to shut the TV and sit at a meal together..
this song takes u back to a place where things were more simple and with everything going on right now, it's also someplace that makes u feel safe. i have lost 2 friends in iraq and now i have a good friend going to afghanastan...he is a marine, bravo co. give 'em hell jeff
its so true!! i wish the world was still this way things would be som much better and we wouldn have all the problems we do and the news wouldn be all about death!!!!
I inquire you to look further into Trent Tomlinson. He's quite the non-main stream country artist. He doesn't get enough recognition that he should for some of his songs (One Wing in the Fire), whilst others are just amusing (Drunker Than Me). Quite enjoyable, IMO.
thats exactly how I used to feel about country.. i never understood the appeal.. then I started driving across country for a living and in alot of cases the only thing I was able to listen to was country..it gave me a chance to really listen to it.. now I totally dig it and Trent is definately one of my faves !!

I hate country music because it all generally sounds the same to me,but I love this song.
It's great how a person can find a song in every genre for them.
