The Emperor is the good guy in Star Wars! He want's to restore order and peace to the galaxy while completing Luke's training. What's not to like about him?
One can almost feel both the majesty and the glory of His Imperial Majesty as he arrives on board the Death Star II. Such a characteristic score shows the greatness of John Williams.
lol i just think that hans is a good conductor is all but i do admit john williams is the best there is so i wasnt trying to compare it was just a thought nothin else k
Man i dont know whos better John williams of star wars or Hans Zimmer of modern warfare 2 to me its an even match. hey i got an idea lets make one play the others music HA HA HA HA HA HA :-D
@Tankbuster1138 You're comparing the soundtrack of Star Wars, widely considered one of the greatest musical composition sets of all time, to Modern Warfare 2, a mediocre sequel to a dime-a-dozen game? Wow, today's youth is culturally bankrupt.
@CSimplify and you're considering the works of Star Wars to be on par with Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky... tell me, have you even listened to their music?
@cttcorran Honestly, I would say the William's work is easily on par with the classical greats. I personally prefer Beethoven, but ultimately it's an apples/oranges argument. Just because music is used in a movie or game doesn't undermine it's beauty.
Man i dont know whos better John williams of star wars or Hans Zimmerman of modern warfare 2 to me its an even match. hey i got an idea lets make one play the others music HA HA HA HA HA HA :-D
Sorry, but ZImmer is the king of generic scores and he copies himself in every movie. In themselves or put in a non-blockbuster movie nobody would remember his bland scores. John Williams' score for 1941 is brilliant, in fact that's the only thing good about that goddawful movie. Good scores sound good even in a bad movie, whereas Zimmer's simple compositions rely only on the movie.
Lucas didn't make 1-3 as he knew what to do but seriously, IT WAS 1983! They wouldn't have had Hayden for that...He purposely waited for better technology, I mean, could you imagine a 1983 battle? the droid's would look SO dull...
@Nickzilla22 haha xD That reminds me, me and my friend always played this theme when the teacher walked into the classroom at school. It fitted so greatly. One time he started to yell at some kids at 0:20 and we laughed so hard that he gave us detention. We left the classroom still laughing and listening to this music. Good memories
acctually seperatist are almost the same as rebels, they both wanted a different government. The only difference is that the techno union and trade federation mainly wanted money...
Played The emperor arrives in band :D we sped it up.. it was too slow for us. Honestly, it sounds a little cooler slower, but it sounds better faster.
The Jedi literally will not accept applications and if you want to be on the Alliance you have to contribute pretty much everything you own. The lives of your family and friends are put in extreme jeopardy, and for what? Nothing. It all goes toward the "cause", which is basically as someone else pointed out, terrorism.
The Empire of course pays well, offers training in all of the most modern technologies and gives you opportunities to advance both in rank and education.
Lol, what did the Empire ever do, except kill the jedis too assure peace and justice? The Rebells/Terrorists killed millions on the Death Star, many civilians. The Rebells killed thousands upon thousands by bombs against Corucsant etc.
The Empire only stood up and fought against terrorism in episode 4/5/6. The Rebells are the ones on the offensive, not the other way around. And the Rebels finally succeded, and when they did the galaxy was in total chaos for the following 100 years.
The emperor arranged a massive galactic war that claimed billions of lives for the sole purpose of claiming power for himself. He then used treachery and deceit to arrange the deaths of an entire monastic order dedicated to maintaining peace and justice throughout the galaxy. He committed several atrocities, including the enslavement of entire races, (Wookiees,) and the destruction of a planet of pacifists, (Aldaaran.) And the terrorists? They were created through his own actions.
You know what I noticed though? Jedi weren't really guardians of peace and justice unless it served their own good. I mean, they never went back to Tatooine and rescued the slaves there after getting Anakin. Then they talk about how Jedi handled tax negotiations and border disputes while those slaves were still there. It seemed to me that Jedi were really only tools of the government that caused more wars than actually prevented.
@NinjaDoctor9 And what of the Clone Wars? The Jedi were out fighting, and killing, people whose crime was nothing more than wanting to secede from the Republic. That seems more like tyranny than justice to me.
@qix03 I agree, it certainly was. But many people forget that the person leading the Republic and the person leading the Separatists (in secret), were the same person. Palpatine manipulated the entire war into effect so that he, in the end, could dismantle the Republic and form the Empire. It was a false war to begin with that aided his rise to power until he eventually crowned himself Emperor. The Jedi were too distracted by the war to realize what Palpatine was doing until it was too late.
@NinjaDoctor9 they cant do whatever do you see a jedi at the beach relaxing they do what they can n they preety much killed only droidsa the alians didnt fight ause the only reason they rebelled was because the corrupt goverment nknew the could have the sepreitist fight for them palapatene used everyone like puppets dooku tried to bring peace n kill him but sidious played him like a fidel he's a asshole a brilliant asshole but a asshole none the less!
@zagon2 I never said Jedi are lazy and relax on beaches while the galaxy is in turmoil. What I mean is, Jedi are supposed to be protectors of Peace and Justice. But what we see in the prequels is the exact opposite of that. They arrive on Tatooine and meet Anakin, who is a slave. They learn of the slave trade going on there. They end up leaving, granted they weren't in a position so free all the slaves, but they could have warned the council. We learn in Eps II that they never did.
@NinjaDoctor9 jedi arent supposed to interfear in those affairs but yeah they should but arent permitted at the same time when they are saving the slaves they could save thousands of lifes battling making sure they have the tatical advantagis see the difference but if you think about it the clone wars are meaning less if the jedi win they really lose same goes for the sepritists i wish dooku or anakin woulda kill the chanceler when they coulda btw do you think they'll ever be a episode 7
@zagon2 Jedi aren't allowed to interfere in the affairs of slave trafficking? But they call themselves the "protectors of Peace and Justice throughout the galaxy." Allowing slave trade is not protecting either of that. Also, I find it odd how they aren't allowed to interfere with slavery, but are allowed to interfere with "tax negotiations" (Episode I), and "border disputes" (Episode II). I think freeing the slaves on Tatooine is way more important than those things.
@NinjaDoctor9 IDK WHAT U MEAN ABOUT BORDER DISPUTE BUT A NEGOTIATION THAT WOULD END CONFLICT BEFORE IT BEGANE IS MORE IMPORTANT STILL THEY SHOULD BUT WAR INTERFEARS IF ONLY THEY MADE IT 1-6 INTEAD OF 1-6,1-3 THEN THEY COULD MAKE OBIONE VS PALPATINE N YODA V ANAKIN N THE JEDIS WOULD OWN THEN OBI ONE IS THE BEST WITH THE LIGHTSABER N YODA IS BEST WITH THE FORCE SO IT WOULD BE GREAT NICE UPLOAD
@zagon2 The border disputes were mentioned in the beginning of Episode II, when Palpatine suggests Obi-Wan and Anakin watch out for Padme' as bodyguards. As for the war interfering with saving the slaves: There were 10 years between the events of Eps 1 and Eps 2. During that 10 years the Jedi could have launched some sort of "slave saving" campaign on Tatooine since the clone wars didn't start yet. I mean, come on, wouldn't you think they'd suggest saving the slaves after the Battle of Naboo?
@NinjaDoctor9 dude it's a movie not a religion n no one dies if i spell obi one look obi one obi one obi one obi one i like the charecter so no harm so enough stop arguing over nothing
@zagon2 Uh, actually, in Australia the religion 'Jedi' had a percentage of followers greater than .01 percent, and in New Zealand, it's recorded followers were greater than both Buddhism and Hinduism.
@LilyCh23 wtf are you are a nerd if you give 2 shits about spelling if there is no capitals n dasshes y do you care no one is harmed n it saves time cause i have a life n dont care if i win the yt speliing b
The Clone Wars was awarenesses, the end justifies the means. After that there was total peace in the galaxy, until the Terrorists started to terrorize civilians and imperials alike. Aldreraan was not a peaceful planet, it was the home of millions of rebels, and they had continuously given the terrorists support for the last decade.
Enslavement of teh wookies? lol, that's just crap from the Force Unleashed, a game, not canon. Even if it was true, it's nothing compared to the evil of the rebels
@baryon15 Actually "Force Unleashed" is probably the most canon game out there, as it has been specifically stated by the developers that this particular game would be the "bridge" between Episodes 3 and 4. Please, do not run your mouth off if you don't have any idea what you are talking about.
@baryon15 Oh, is that so? Lets look at the Halo series. Original canon for Halo was started by a GAME! If games can NEVER be canon, as you say, the Halo storyline could not exist, could it? And lets look at another game called Gears of War. Need I say anything about that? Games CAN be canon even without making their own storyline. And who the hell gives a damn about tiny differences if its still part of the same universe as a whole?
Are you a fucking retard? Do you have any idea what G canon means? The Star Wars games will never be G canon, what the hell does Halo got to with this? G canon stands for George Lucas canon, only the movies so far are G, as well as two books. Everything else is C or S.
the two books you think are "canon" are Labyrinth of Evil and Dark Lord: the Rise of Darth Vader. There is a movie and show about the Clone Wars that are "canon." Let's not forget the Story of Darth Vader...
@Aasharu According to some of the expanded universe novels, which may or may not be considered canon, the purpose of the Emperor consolidating control of the galaxy was to strengthen it, and make it capable of repelling the Yuuzhan Vong. Outbound Flight by Timothy Zahn explores this a little. But like I said, it may or may not be considered canon. Interesting reading though!
Just about all of the population knew about the Death Star, that was the very purpose, to spread fear against the Empire's enemies, to ensure continued stability and security for all citizens.
well yes this is true, so they just found an empty lot and decided to build a giant space station, and what if the geonosians had made copies of the blueprints?
Well, either Palpatine would wipe them out to keep the secret, or he would convince them to break from the Separatists and join the Empire, and now they're living high on the hog in exchange for keeping the secret.
Holy trombone.

Even if it was true, it's nothing compared to the evil of the rebels
baryon15 2 years ago
@baryon15 Actually "Force Unleashed" is probably the most canon game out there, as it has been specifically stated by the developers that this particular game would be the "bridge" between Episodes 3 and 4. Please, do not run your mouth off if you don't have any idea what you are talking about.

It's still EU, there are thousands, literally, contradictions and mistakes. Anyone who sumbits a RQ to Lucasarts or LF can create a story thur.
It's not G canon, S, or C at best. We're talking about G, here.

The games can never, and will never be G canon, stfu
baryon15 2 years ago
@baryon15 Oh, is that so? Lets look at the Halo series. Original canon for Halo was started by a GAME! If games can NEVER be canon, as you say, the Halo storyline could not exist, could it? And lets look at another game called Gears of War. Need I say anything about that? Games CAN be canon even without making their own storyline. And who the hell gives a damn about tiny differences if its still part of the same universe as a whole?
Bachridon 2 years ago
Are you a fucking retard? Do you have any idea what G canon means? The Star Wars games will never be G canon, what the hell does Halo got to with this? G canon stands for George Lucas canon, only the movies so far are G, as well as two books. Everything else is C or S.
baryon15 2 years ago
Actually I believe The Force Unleashed is G Canon. At least the concept of the secret apprentice is.

As is Shadows of the Empire.

No, it isn't.
baryon15 1 year ago
Dash Rendar is, as he is in A New Hope.

:D

the two books you think are "canon" are Labyrinth of Evil and Dark Lord: the Rise of Darth Vader. There is a movie and show about the Clone Wars that are "canon." Let's not forget the Story of Darth Vader...

@Bachridon what does canon mean?
CanadianBlaze137 2 years ago
@CanadianBlaze137 canon means part of the original storyline.
biodude147 2 years ago
@Aasharu According to some of the expanded universe novels, which may or may not be considered canon, the purpose of the Emperor consolidating control of the galaxy was to strengthen it, and make it capable of repelling the Yuuzhan Vong. Outbound Flight by Timothy Zahn explores this a little. But like I said, it may or may not be considered canon. Interesting reading though!

I'm sure the vast majority of the Imperial population didn't know about the Death Star, or that Palpatine was a Sith Lord.
Star Destroyers just sound cool, however.
lolubentrold 2 years ago
Just about all of the population knew about the Death Star, that was the very purpose, to spread fear against the Empire's enemies, to ensure continued stability and security for all citizens.
baryon15 2 years ago
I'm sure they knew about it after Alderaan was destroyed, but not any earlier.
lolubentrold 2 years ago
how would they not no of it itds freakin huge how would u hide it.
CanadianBlaze137 2 years ago
You know what else is freakin huge?
SPACE.
lolubentrold 2 years ago
@lolubentrold
well yes this is true, so they just found an empty lot and decided to build a giant space station, and what if the geonosians had made copies of the blueprints?
CanadianBlaze137 2 years ago
Well, either Palpatine would wipe them out to keep the secret, or he would convince them to break from the Separatists and join the Empire, and now they're living high on the hog in exchange for keeping the secret.
