hey nithin here may b e3 is played may b in case if black plays e5 knight can re route to center via e2, wat do u feel plz reply 2 ma email id nithin.capa@gmail.com
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but I rarely watch the "overview and summary." If I want to review something, I can just "rewind" the video. I'm aware that you may say something new in the overview, but due to time constraints, I usually stop watching your videos at the announcement of "overview and summary." I feel that at this point, the plot has reached its end.
To settle the Chetto/ketto debate I propose that from now on this setup should be named "Fankietcho" oe "Fianchetko" or "Kiancheffo" so that the everybody can from now on agree and be pleased with the pronounciation.
KC, Have you seen the games live? If you go to the website, you will find all the games live and with Houdini 2.0 kibitzing. Thanks for the video, cheers. p.s. Are you going to cover the games of Tata Steel for your Tuesday show?
@9:32, My guess is that Carlsen's e3 was just a high-class waiting move because he didn't want to move anything else. Black doesn't have many good moves and Carlsen may have been waiting for him to weaken his position.
@Pbatch23888 He wasn't comparing their complexity in any way, he was saying that Carlsen's pays subtle attention to detail in his chess playing, just as Mozart pays subtle attention to detail in his composing.
i think 20. e3, in the broader sense of chess strategy, just gives the light squared bishop broader scope for the rest of the game. It just adds flexibility to the position. To me Magnus's position looks like there are no real threats so he just slightly improves it.
Wow. I've just stopped the video at 3:35. Bxf6?!? One would expect this if black played ...h6, but at first sight it seems almost a coffeehouse move to play it unprovoked. I presume white has to play this now otherwise ...Nbd7 and the bishop is misplaced
e3 might open the e2 square for the knight to reroute to c3.

Carlsen's play seems perfect at times. It's like watching chess from another dimension. Very enjoyable game!
