To be honest I do wish the yanks would use the British tactics and training methods, cause I hate seeing Americans getting shot due to poor commands by their poorly trained officers. US Soldiers have sharp minds and are good but not when it comes to a firefight. If their officers and soldiers had longer and more intense training like the British there would be a lot less casualties and deaths. It's to unorganised in my opinion. @TheAustralianArmy What do you think should be done about the fire bases - many are on low ground & in the past where undermanned - I mean since Roman times its been standard practice to remove vegetation & cover, establish firing markers & have mutually supporting bases to deliver fire on any advancing enemy - the cover for the Taliban in this case looks like its inviting them to get close to the base - rather than have a killing zone for them. I don't know if the US is trying to invite attack?

In Malaya we used Fabian incrementalism, where you cut off the enemies supplies & human connections just like Fabian did to hannibal, so the enemy wither from within & are crushed by aggressive patrols.
