Genesis Chapter 1

If Genesis is true then why doesn't it mention the other planets in our galaxy and that at the center is a super massive black hole?

These seem like pretty big things to leave out and something God should have known. This just leads me to believe that the book of Genesis was just written by men who had limited knowledge of their surroundings and no God or messenger ever appeared to them or inspired them to write it.

@begood20000 The bible talks about outer space expanding, that wasn't known until the 21 century! There is no way men of that time could have known that unless it was revealed to them by God. Look it up!

@TheNancySikes No where in Isaiah 40:22 does it suggest that the universe is expanding. You're interpreting and seeing what you want to see.

If anything it suggests that they thought that heaven was in the sky and it stretched over the earth like a curtain. But we now know that heaven is not in the sky because we fly planes up there and have a space station in earth's orbit.

How come they didn't know that heaven wasn't in the sky? It's because they were never up in the sky.

@TheRavenAzarath I don't think you would like that because it would mean that we we have to see God condoning slavery, capital punishment for rude children, infanticide, animal sacrifice and prophets torturing their children. Just a bit of food for thought.

....the beautiful creature told me to try this and look I am fine...go ahead, try it! Looks and sounds can be deceiving, always listen for substance first, than let style merely accompany it!

When we put our initial and core trust in God that he is there and that he created us we are able to understand much of the incomprehendible parts of the Bible because we begin to see the universe from the way God set it up and his reasonings for it the best that we possibly can understand.
