ecw was just so gritty with wrestler like terry funk, sandman, tommy dreamer, raven, van damme, sabu , taz, rhino and so on they had there share of superstars we were so spoiled with good wrestling back in the 90's from wcw/wwf monday night wars to on thursdays for me I would watch wcw thunder but only when ecw was on those little 5 sec commercials they had which usually had something to do with ecw ppv then on saturday I would watch the re-runs again with my best friend good times

Whether you like it or not ECW was responsible for a lot of changes in wrestling. Read any good book about WCW or WWF during the Monday night wars (that isn't by WWE) and it will tell you that both of those companies borrowed ideas from ECW (and hired most of it's wrestlers). I mean WWF even created a title belt for it's ECW style matches (the hardcore title). Like it or not, the WWF 'Attitude' era, and WCW's change of style in the late 90's to a more 'real' feel came from ECW.

Difference of opinion. No big deal. My point is that ECW had so much athletic ability and creativity that they didn't need to get into the ultraviolet-butcher matches to deliver a good product or to catch anyone attention. I watched ECW because guys like RVD were waaaay ahead of their time. Some of the stuff done in tag teams were absolutely mind blowing. Thumbtacks, weed wackers, barbed wire, light bulbs, etc. I never saw a need for it.
