Very clever that working on a computer on a carpet risking static build up , no anti static wrist strap when removing major computer components HD and Power supply, that computer will be lucky if it works 6 months from now. Static discharge damage isnt always fatal immeditalty but it damages components over time. I think this video should be renamed How not to open a computer!!
What's funny is, she took out 3 components. That machine has MUCH more to it than you see in this video. I service these machines 12 hours per day. This video is very misleading.
I am so glad that you've had such a great experience with Z800. I, however, did not. It was brilliant 'out of the box', troubles started when I tried to Upgrade it. Second CPU, bigger SSD C: drive, extra 12gig of RAM.
Long story short, HP is absolute GARBAGE when it comes to a customer service, and I run small business, speed of service is just as important (if not more) as a speed of my work PC.
@lovemaker94 I run one right now....Though a GTX480 not a FX card... OCZ Revodrive SSD.
The 32GB of Memory mine has installed allows for alot of programs open at the same time. And allowing them to run properly with Dual E5506 Xeon's... Though they should be a little faster than my clock setting 2.13GHz Sometimes things can be "sluggish". Depends on the load.
Though you are not a geek if you have good hardware. You are a geek if you are especially interested in something particular :)
this is not very flexible for upgrades . the extra components and panels dont make the computer faster it just looks better if you ever want to upgrade something in the computer it might not fit so getting this its not that good of an idea its almost like a mac the first things i would do i were to make this computer again was take out all that useless plastic panels

good thought, but no worries about that with this child. She's non-stop, inside/outside, every day, and spends very little of it taking apart computers.
wow, thats terrible for field servicing! all that extra jazz, and then the specialized power supply and hdd mounts??? its like servicing a laptop! and how would you upgrade? this would only benefit hp. (fyi, you dont disconnect the power from the desktop, you plug it into a power strip and turn the strip off so you still get ground)
@bazzeil Tooless field servicing, whats wrong with that? It comes with all the brackets you need. All the empty bays are ready to take drives without having to buy a bracket. Think of how hard it is to swap a traditional power supply vs the HP. I wish more standard PCs used tooless designs like this.
@CassiveBrewster Well, it more more powerful than SOME MacPros, it all depends on what youre willing to pay. Me personally I think it looke better than the MacPro.
Rosie "the this thing back in " is a Hard drive. Thank you for showing the modularity of the Z800, I need a computer of this power for my financial trading. I need one of those big monitors also . Lovely smile Rosie, say hi to Mon and Dad. Cheers From Vancouver Canada
I guess you got no problems sitting on carpet while pulling computer parts in and out of the case?
you might as well have left the power cord plugged in because your are gonna cause static, but then again what do I expect if you got a extra workstation laying around for a kid to play with you probably don't care.
Still she is smarter than some pc techs I've worked with, probably noone bothered to explain to her that static and electronics don't mix well.
We recently got our hands on an early evaluation model of the Z800 and its f... amazing. The performance is not comparable to any other ws out there. Tested with Catia, Siemens NX and a bunch of other software. Dont forget to apply HPs performance tuning framework prior to testing.
yeah, probably broke a bunch of rules there, but fortunately, the computer survived. Thanks for watching.

If it was a complete tear down.. she would get lost quick.
