  • Неожиданно.Само совершенство!

  • So beautiful!

  • This interpretation is gifted with insight...the dynamics and tempo carry such a powerful sound of finality.

  • Please check out Jack Nicholson playing this movement in the 1970 film " 5 Easy Pieces"... Karen Black earned an Oscar for Best supporting Actress here also...

  • Amazing, every single note goes straight though your heart. Brilliant. The tone, the slight pauses, everything, WOW!

  • simply gorgeous....

  • The last piece I learned how to play.......

  • @emilyhutjes This was the last piece I learned to play as well. I had to teach myself because my piano teacher didn't think I was old enough to be able to play Chopin correctly. So I spent my last days practicing this piece until it was perfect. Then when my teacher noticed I had not been practicing my last weeks pieces, she asked what it was I was doing. I played this for her and she told me she couldn't have played it any better and apologized for not teaching me herself.

  • learning this at the moment :D

  • @Superhappyperson4445 same. When I first heard it, I actually cried because of the emotion he out into this piece. (embarrassing moment cuz i'm a guy. lol) =)

  • @livin4thealmighty aw no it just shows you have soul and love for the music :)

  • Parfait ;)

  • Thank you, Casper, for your very informed response. You are obviously far more knowledgeable than I about pianists currently performing. My era was Rubenstein, and Horowitz and Barrenboim, and Richter. I did hear LangLang in concert recently. That was a real treat. Again, thank you for the new information. Katherine

  • Finally, some one who plays what Chopin actually wrote, rather than changing the tempo around to suit themselves. The result is that this relatively less knows pianist gives a far superior performance then his far better knows contemporaries. This was a pure pleasure to listen to.

  • @drkathyday Ivo Pogorelich is not "a relatively less known pianist*, in fact he's one of the more famous one. Of course if a piano player plays too dramatic with volume and tempo, the piece will become (mostly) dredgy and boring, but "playing like a machine" wont do it either. In fact if you listen carefully you will notice that it isn't always as regular as a metronome.

Anyway, great pianist Ivo Pogorelich! His set of preludes, which I got on CD, is spot on (apart from number 15).

  • bellissimo

  • Outstanding integrity and understanding. Even Kissin and LangLang doesn't much Pogorelich interpretation.

  • this is the best interpretation, I love it!!! the 1º place to Ivo Pogorelich and the 2º place to Richter, the humble opinion of a Chopin's lover.

  • This is the BEST version.

  • @C1NEMAGIC I like the Argerich version too

  • @C1NEMAGIC Just listen the same version plays by Grigory Sokolov (there is a live on youtube) and come back to speak later ;-) Really ;-)

  • ...siguran sam da ne postoji niko ko moze tako da prenese Chopin-a kao Ivo...moj naklon i sve rijeci hvale....

  • The best... All the sorrow this prelude expresses, so beautifully played...

  • amazing!
