1. They had put up screen to conceal their position. They had to approach the window due to the high angle shots they were taking.
2. Firing off another Soldiers shoulder IS a tactic that is taught to US Army Snipers. In an urban setting you use what you can to steady the rifle. We even practiced shots such as these.
3. The fact that you cannot tell the difference between the United States Military and the Iraqi Military is such a monumental fuck up for a Marine that you really should have just stopped posting. What an embarrassment.
4. Firing in support of the assaulting unit is at the very basic of US warfare tactics. It distracts the enemy and allows your assaulting force to flank. They were not firing down AT the assaulting units but ahead of them. When friendlies enter the area you SHIFT or LIFT fire depending on the situation. Did you even pay attention to any of your training? I would hope that Marines have to learn more than just "CHARGE!!".

same here after injury lost college football scholarship, but had 4.0 college gpa as a junior in college at 19 years old in Biochem, honor student, deans/president list, etc, etc... went to fight for my country because I CAN not because I had no other options...and the percentage who don't do well academically god bless you; I know college dropouts who are successful business men but you chose the military and do your time because you love your country, no matter how smart you are.

Most of our troops had secured the high rises outside Talil Square and those snipers were 10 to 13 stories up firing down on insurgents or providing harassment fire while the line grunts were clearing house to house. 2. Firing off another Soldiers shoulder IS a tactic that is taught to US Army Snipers. In an urban setting you use what you can to steady the rifle. We even practiced shots such as these.
3. The fact that you cannot tell the difference between the United States Military and the Iraqi Military is such a monumental fuck up for a Marine that you really should have just stopped posting. What an embarrassment.

4. Firing in support of the assaulting unit is at the very basic of US warfare tactics. It distracts the enemy and allows your assaulting force to flank. They were not firing down AT the assaulting units but ahead of them. When friendlies enter the area you SHIFT or LIFT fire depending on the situation. Did you even pay attention to any of your training? I would hope that Marines have to learn more than just "CHARGE!!".

Im actually working on a degree in Biology with a minor in Criminalistics. Unless you have a masters or doctorate I wouldn't be talking shit. There are plenty of infantry guys with degrees. I even had a friend who was a stock broker until 9/11 happened. He wiped his ass with more money than you would see in a year. Was only 16 and when I gave them more time it shot to $1200-1500 a week not every two weeks. I was smart enough to get out here and not march to someone else's tune. Now I'm in housing. No education needed. Just some common sense. No dis-respect but you service men have none of that. If so you wouldn't be fighting. Peace

@ProTuner06 you know whats crazy? someone i know was homeschooled until college. he got a masters degree but when he went to enlist they said he needed a GED or equivilent.

@BORICUAPAPI74 that is true now waivers have been phased out. Though it use to be they issued waivers I had a guy at my AIT who was on one. Then he was offered ocs school on post education programs to catch up. This is no longer the case. Though back in the day there were a few non grads. I still say the asvab is a better indicator of potential considering how our civil rating system is a bit behind.
