  • Eu sou brasileiro, mas gostei muito dos seus videos, sou muito grato a você!

    google traduction:

I am Brazilian, but I liked his videos, I am very grateful to you!

  • did you parent the cube and the cone together?

  • my enemy doesnt do anything, it isnt a cube its a full model.

  • @Dinobot2468

Make sure you follow what I do exactly. Also, you may want to make your character move around using a cube or cylinder.

  • how did u make it shoot?

  • @jonathankim1999

Look ahead on the video list. I have a tutorial, the thumbnail is blue.

  • very nice i have learned a little. but i do not know how to open your downloadable file in blender lmao. can you tell me how pls?

  • @coolstermurph

    Open then with winrar.

  • that's the problem I cant seem to find any

  • I cant get mine to work and I cant tell if I'm doing something wrong can you update to 2.5 or point me in the direction of an updated tutorial?

  • @BlargNinjaOreo

It should be close to the same if its not exactly the same. Search youtube for one in 2.5

  • sorted the AI bit, forgot to put it in property, but still cant get camera to work when playing so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated =D

  • @RenegadeOfSociety

If you are using my blend, you need to be in blender 2.49b to have the mouselook script work.

  • @FreeStuffLawl its the newer 1, its not mouselook, its actually where when you go to play the game or animation, it doesnt go to the camera view.

by the way, the tutorial(s) are much appreciated and thanks for uploading =D

  • @RenegadeOfSociety

No problem, press num pad 0 to go into the camera view.

  • @FreeStuffLawl is it meant to go into camera view when you press P? or is that different?

  • @RenegadeOfSociety

0 on the numpad brings you into camera view, then you press P to play.

  • Ive tried to use this with a cube to follow mine but it doesnt seem to work, done every part of it and it doesnt even turn to look at me =(, but then again, ive followed several tutorials about cameras as well and whenever I've gone to play the cameras never followed my player, its just always been the same as the viewport window.

  • I'll try...............

  • Help please!

    So I've made my enemy following your instructions and it works..... sort of;

When I press "P" to start the game the enemy first turns to the left and then

moves around my character (this case, a cube) in a wide arc before falling

of the edge of the plain.... any ideas?

  • @TheTattorack

It sounds like you have the direction the enemy goes forward set to the wrong direction. Change the number you have for the motion actuator to a different axis. There are 3 axis, the each of the 3 numbers on the actuator is an axis. Positive numbers make it go forward on that axis and negative numbers backwards. Add a number number to 1 axis while having 0 on the others at one time until it moves correctly.

  • @FreeStuffLawl

It does move forwards, but more like a car trying to avoid something big than being attracted by it.

Loc: 0.10 0.00 0.00 (does the above description)

Loc: -0.10 0.00 0.00 (the same, but backwards)

all the other Loc things I've tried make it rotate, move side ways and such like.

  • @TheTattorack

Change the tracking time to something lower, if that doesn't work go though the video again and make sure everything is done correctly.

  • hi, uhm. can i ask, on the blender game engine, how can you make a speech/dialogue system? like, while controlling your character, and you make it close to a npc, and press(for example) the A key, a dialogue box will appear, like "Hi, what's up?" and so on. Please reply?

  • @fullgrown31

have a near sensor that activates when it is close to a property "npc 1" or what ever you want it to be. Then the sensor activates a sound actuator.

  • @FreeStuffLawl well, i already know that. but what about dialog like legend of zelda, pokemon, and other rpgs? cause if your saying overlaying a scene, it would take alot of scenes. :|

  • @fullgrown31

You would have to write a custom python script, the script would have to interact with some realtime text. The script has to be able to change the "text" property to new things. Sorry but its not something I can do for you or even show you how (It would take awhile to write the script). If you want to try, I suggest looking though some blender python tutorials.

    Good Luck,

  • Hey, how about when the enemy sees you, it will do an animation to your character? And the character's health depletes? How can you do that?

  • @fullgrown31

have the sensor that activates the tracking also make the enemy's animation actuator play, and have it lower the property of hp with a property actuator. Put in a number with a - symbol in front of it to have the number be subtracted.

  • Hi, nice tutorial, but i have a question. I want to have a bird that flys around in the sky and swoop down when it sees the player, but i cant make it track to on the Z axis. So when my bird finds the layer with radar it will follow him around but wont change height, any ideas?

  • @Cod6Media

on the birds track option, press the "3d" option, it will track from all angles

  • @FreeStuffLawl Thanks man, your tutorials are extremely helpful, and if i cant find it in your tutorial your nice and quick replys are very helpful :)

  • @Cod6Media

thank you, I am always glad to help a viewer.

  • thanks man once again a simple but great tutorial :) peace

  • Great tutorial, thx !

  • i just subbed, all your videos are awesome

  • How do you make him not see you when you're behind cover or something?

  • @OCoptimusconvoy

You could try adding a ray to the enemy, and have the ray track to him. and while the ray is hitting him the enemy follows.

  • @FreeStuffLawl so you mean when the ray hits the cover? that would be a lot of logic.

  • @OCoptimusconvoy

have the ray only see the enemy's property, and when it stops seeing then it goes back to doing something else.

  • @FreeStuffLawl Sorry I don't quite get it. DO I make an empty and have it parent to the enemy and add a ray to the empty? and make the ray look for the enemy or player? Or do I make a ray for the cover?

  • @OCoptimusconvoy

The ray would be your enemys direct vision, parent the empty to your enemy. Have the ray track to the player if... (lets say you walk within 10 blender units of it (near sensor)). then if you run away more then 10 blender units, and the ray stops seeing the player the enemy would stop going after you. I don't know if this will work well, its just an idea.

  • @FreeStuffLawl That's a good idea but i don't think it'd be the best. Maybe if the player goes inside an invisible box behind some cover, then the enemy's seeu property or whatever changes to 0. :D

  • @OCoptimusconvoy

sounds good, it all depends on your game. :p

  • @FreeStuffLawl thnx, true. when r u making more vidz?

and any luck on that request i made?

  • @FreeStuffLawl thnx, true. when r u making more vidz?

and any luck on that request i made?

btw check out my game so far.

  • oh wow man, i want to make a game to, do i need a very strong pc? (using a laptop), and where do i get a nice game engine to use? also which vid should i start with from you, sorry if i sound really stupid, but i'm very new to this

  • @gtafan110010

it depends how strong your laptop is, it does not require it to be very good. Blender is a game engine, I will send you a video explaining more about it.

  • @gtafan110010 Hey Im OCoptimusconvoy. Try Blender3D, it's free. start off by watching super3boy's tutorials on youtube. When you see most of them, watch some game engine tutorials, like movement, BGE (blender game engine), python (language), stuff like that.

  • Thanks man, just making my fps and i really needed to know this, thanks! :)

  • @kiwiblender

    Glad to help.

  • can you make an advanced fps type enemie tutorial? so like he dodges, walks around before he sees you, after he sees u then you hide he follows you, stuff like that?

  • @OCoptimusconvoy

I will see what I can do, but could you send me a message on youtube with a few more details on what you would like to see.

  • @FreeStuffLawl sure sure u should get the message in a few minutes.

  • @FreeStuffLawl Be cool have it so doesnt see you from behind *easy*, follows your around corners to find you and patrols

  • @merccc1

    what?

  • @FreeStuffLawl just adding on to were you said few more details on what you would like to see lol even though wasnt directed at me XD

  • @merccc1

    ok :p
