AMD is introducing failure in long term, i honestly given AMD enough chances and years and was a fan because it was cheap and good for me, but after buying testing and i saw at friends the fall i'm running from this name forever, they will fail all the time, i'm back in intel and nVidia no way i will give more chance for this rubbish, seriously they are trying to compete with intel 4 and 6 cores with new 8 core, try beating the same category for f**k sake.

@StevensiTX true but AMD crippled each core too much so total throughput will be too low per core, even if optimized, to beat the i7 2600k and upcoming ivybridge. Its all about the cache(intel has awards for best branch predictor for many years in a row) and the execution units. AMDs execution units are halved already and put 2 cores into the mix which basically means the performance is 1/4 of what it could be. they tried too hard to save space and it cost them major performance losses

@lolizmu not even that lolz, the server cpus are extremely close in price range that most companies will opt for the intel variants even if its less cores because as everyone must know by now that the cores from intel beat the crap out of AMD's and are more efficient. The only pro ive seen for amd for a long time was the upgrade path but when your highest processor can barely match the mid grade of the competitor thats not a very smart choice, SB upgrade path is much better.

@Icosebyte yeah i totally agree bobcat was a success for the laptop and small desktop market but i did some research and its basically a die shrink of the phenom II quad core with an integrated gpu. Which for the money is a great buy for casual gamers and offices. So i think they should go back to getting the most out of each core instead of crippling each core and throwing more of them at the problem. Ivybridge 8 cores are gonna be insane!
