Danny will be 71 in July I believe. Wow! Where does the time go? Sorry to hear Danny is experiencing bad health. Our thoughts and prayers are with him. Last I heard, he was living in Mannasass, Virginia.
This singer reminds me of Josh Groban, what a voice...beautiful range and tone. I just happen to come across his songs recently ....any info as to where he is from and if he is well now...
Sad to hear Danny is not well. He was in the same class as my brother. He was a great singer even then. Danny and his family lived around the corner from me
I, too love Danny and Mary. Danny's wife wrote to me of Danny. He is at the bedside of of his mother in Ireland. She told me Danny was forced to retire from performing due to health issues. I am sad, but sadder still for Danny, for music is is heart. Listen to Loch Tay Boatsong or Ringsend Boatman.
This guy was part of my youth. I am familiar with his brother. Danny has not been too well & hope that we can hear again this beautiful voice ~~ Mike 5*****

some months ago a friend gave me as a present a Single by Danny Doyle titeled "Step it out Mary" containing also the Gordon Lightfood Song "The early Morning Rain"as well as "Sam Hall" and Red haired Mary". Can anybody tell me where to purchase this wonderful Songs on CD? I'll be very gratefull for any helpful answer.
merci Tom ! Danny is my favourite singer and your medley is superb I'm living in Brittany France and here we are very closed with Irish people and his mind and with the music too I'm lucky to have very good Irish friends ..Hope for you that you will have the possibility to go to Ireland...the undiscovered North West is superb!David
i have been looking for a cd version of this album for a long time without success. i have a very old tape made from scratchy album. this is probably one of my favorite albums (and the only irish one i know..though my mother is from dublin...shame shame)....does anyone know where i might acquire a digital version of this album??...
What do you think about giving me the digitalized files of your scratchy originals and I will try to restore them for you (and for me).
I am a soundingeneer and I already did some restauration work on "Step it out Mary", "Sam Hall", "The early Morning Rain" and "Red haired Mary" by Danny Doyle.

Sorry to hear Danny's not going well Mike.
He wrote me long ago. Said thanks.
He's my male folksinger number one.
Female singer are Mary Black and Tamara Rossi who I very adore. Great to meet a friend of Danny's brother.

Thanks David,
I will follow your advise,

France is a nice country too. I have good memories in my head about this land.
I was in Lyon & Carcassonne.
