Well actually in the original Japanese versions it is technically green(boy) and blue(girl) cause you now how in america the first Pokemon games were red and blue? well blue was originally green in japan. That's why the remakes are leaf GREEN and fire red. But there's some translations misunderstanding and issues as some makes it fit with the American version but some stick with the japan version.
