making the diy out of heavy galvanized pipes, why? at the hardware store you can get strips of aluminnun and shape then to look just like the leensee and washers for counter weight, plenty of videos out there on how to create your own, i actualy thought the Diy stedycam video looked better that the store bought one...
@rob327c you have to add more counter weights to stop the wobble. I had to goto the hardware store and find more. Still a bit of wobble, but it's not near as bad.
@petenicezz For the Lensse, I went to any hardware store or you can get an actual counter weight from b&h or amazon. For the homemade steadicam any sports store or wal-mart will have 2.5 or 5 pound weights.

If you buy washers from a hardware store you can put on or take off as much as you think you need, rather than buying one counterweight and not being able to adjust the weight.
