Yes this will work but you have to search on google for the correct firmware that goes with your device. If you do not use the right firmware this will not work. Best of luck.
Bro this vid helped out a lot. I had recently upgraded my iPhone 3GS to firmware 3.1 beta and my phone was all messed up. I used the same process you used to downgrade and it worked.
You can use the latest itunes to do this. This will work to downgrade from 2.2 to 2.1. If you follow the instructions you will be able to do it without any problems.

I would first try to power cycle the wireless router that you are using. Then if you continue to have the problem then you can try to downgrade the firmware.

My friend once you upgrade the firmware it also upgrades the baseband. Once you downgrade the firmware you cannot downgrade the baseband. At least right now you can't do that. Search on google to see if eventually someone figured out how. Best of luck.
Well I had version 2.2.1 and what I expirienced was bad battery life and the iphone would get stuck often. You may want to reinstall the firmware to see if the problem is fixed. Best of luck
Sorry I don't. I have ATT for my iphones. If you upgraded to 2.2.1 it will upgrade your baseband as well so you won't be able to unlock it. Check google to see if there is a fix.
when i download the .ipsw from the link ...it appears as a folder to me ..so when quickpwn is looking for .ipsw it only finds the original one ...what should i do to make it look like a "lego" block and not like a folder???
You might have a program installed that changes the icon to something else. Check to see with what it opens when you click on it. You don't need to open it, all you need is to follow the steps on the video regardless of what it looks like, what you need to follow is the name. Best of luck.
If you got an error 1013 than that is the correct error to get the restore done. If it does not turn on don't worry, just press the power button twice and the iphone should turn on. If not then press the home button and power button on top for about 10 seconds and then let it go, see if it turns on. Let me know if you got it going.
I was able to successfully downgrade the firmware following your steps but had some issues. It deleted everything I had on it, apps, photos (that were in the camera roll). When I tried to restore all the apps and photos it said I needed the previous firmware to retrieve everything. I even had to set it up as a new iphone and upgrade to get my apps but I lost all data..i.e. Balance app, and photos in the camera roll...etc. Is it possible to somehow to retrieve my photos and important data?

I looked into this for you and right now you can't. If you upgraded to version 2.2.1 then the baseband was also upgraded and there is no way currently to downgrade it.

This video is not intended to jailbreak the iphone, I would recommend to try it again, you can also search google for the instructions to jailbreak it.

I tried to get some video wallpapers and it screwed my phone up and I tried to restore it and it just so happens that the new 2.2.1 firmware came out today and iTunes said the only way I could restore was if upgraded my phone. Make sure you have an Iphone 3G so that it will work since the firmware on my website is for the 3G, if you have the 1st generation iphone then download it also from my site. Each one is labeled.
If you have the right firmware, then just upgrade back to 2.2 and try again the process. Best of luck.

Hi, You can always resync the iphone with itunes and choose to restore, it will reprogram the iphone to the latest version 2.2. If you had a sim card you where using it will stop working when you upgraded the iphone because version 2.2 also upgrades the baseband which cannot be downgraded at this time when you downgrade the version to 2.1. Hope this helped.

No problem. The video I made is to help you downgrade to version 2.1 not to jailbreak the iphone. If you are trying to jailbreak the iphone you will need to do the steps in the video. Once this is completed and the iphone shows activated and you can see all the icons then reopen the Quickpwn program and follow the steps to jailbreak. You have to complete the restore process completely in order to jaibreak it afterwards. Best of luck.

No you can't because once you upgraded to version 2.2 the baseband changed. When you downgrade the version the baseband does not change and there is no method right now to downgrade the baseband.

Jailbreaking is not illegal but it does void the warranty on the iphone. Besides in this video I do not show you how to jailbreak the iphone. I explain it clearly, just follow the steps.

If you are using windows, press and hold down the shift key and while you hold down that key, click on update in itunes. It has to work. Let me know.

hi i jailbroke my iphone but yesturday it automatically updated the firmware to 2.2.1 and i have tried and tried to downgrade it but when u say press and hold the shift key then press the restore on itunes and u get that window to pop up thats no happening on my itunes am i doin something worng because i really want all my jailbreak items back thank you

This video is not intended to jailbreak the iphone, I would recommend to try it again, you can also search google for the instructions to jailbreak it.

Thank you so much. Everything worked out perfectly. I tried to get some video wallpapers and it screwed my phone up and I tried to restore it and it just so happens that the new 2.2.1 firmware came out today and iTunes said the only way I could restore was if upgraded my phone. So I did and I lost my jailbreak but now I can re-jailbreak my phone and live happily ever after lol. Once again, thanks!

thanks for the the video aram but this works for iphone 3g too i upgraded to the new Firmware 2.2.1 on accident and it let me downgrade back to 2.2 and now im downgranding to 2.1 if you want proof i can send a video. thank for the video it helped me alot...

Make sure you have an Iphone 3G so that it will work since the firmware on my website is for the 3G, if you have the 1st generation iphone then download it also from my site. Each one is labeled.
If you have the right firmware, then just upgrade back to 2.2 and try again the process. Best of luck.

Hey, I've searched everywhere for a solution to my problem but had no luck. I jailbroke a friend's iphone using quickpwn 2.1 and firmware 2.1 and after the process there was no service. Do you know how to remove everything (Cydia, installer, etc.) and restore back the signal?

Hi, You can always resync the iphone with itunes and choose to restore, it will reprogram the iphone to the latest version 2.2. If you had a sim card you where using it will stop working when you upgraded the iphone because version 2.2 also upgrades the baseband which cannot be downgraded at this time when you downgrade the version to 2.1. Hope this helped.

No problem. The video I made is to help you downgrade to version 2.1 not to jailbreak the iphone. If you are trying to jailbreak the iphone you will need to do the steps in the video. Once this is completed and the iphone shows activated and you can see all the icons then reopen the Quickpwn program and follow the steps to jailbreak. You have to complete the restore process completely in order to jaibreak it afterwards. Best of luck.

Thanks for the nice video. I had a little problem. I couldnt get it to jailbreak after I downgraded (3G). So I up graded back to 2.2. Man I had a hell of a time getting to jailbreak, the USB wouldnt work. Anyway I got it, but Im nervous to try again. Do you have any tips? Have you ever had this happen? Could you help? Thanks

Hi, all I can tell you is that do not worry since you can always upgrade again to 2.2. I have done this on 3 iphones already and tons of people have done it without any problems. Please make sure you follow all the steps exactly like I do in the video. Best of luck.

I dont have a sim card... I have a chipped one so i can use my old sim card
Now its screwd up when i get to the last part it tells me to plug my sim card in but if i have sim card inside my iphone i can't connect onto iTunes. I put the chipped sim card into my iPhone and this error came out and said i need a iPhone sim card or something and now my iphone is stuck in this position. The picture with a connector and a itunes icon any one help...!

No you can't because once you upgraded to version 2.2 the baseband changed. When you downgrade the version the baseband does not change and there is no method right now to downgrade the baseband.

Jailbreaking is not illegal but it does void the warranty on the iphone. Besides in this video I do not show you how to jailbreak the iphone. I explain it clearly, just follow the steps.

Search google for that. If it is the 2nd generation ipod touch you are out of luck since that one cannot be jailbroken yet.

but it didnt quite work what happpened was i did what you said and ok i have 2.2 and i wanted to jailbreak and it wasnt working for 2.2 cuz i didnt it on my old comnputer then transferrred my purchases to my new computer and i used the quickpwn and it didnt work so
i did exactly what you said i held the shift buutoon and clicked on the restore and i got a error (5) and now therre is a cd with a itunes music note and the smaller part of ausb cord pointing 2 it
