Longer mix than the album, has an longer middle bridge......turns this from a classic tune to a killer classic tune! Kleeer, the best damn band in creation!!
Ha Ha when you heard that horn cut in you hit the floor and sweat your ass off. one hand in the air and the other on your drink with that cocktail napkin around it lol!
Norman Durham, the bassist was a friend of mine. Though we lost touch a few years ago, we worked together in the late 90's. He was also a fan of bowling and I would help him with his game in Yonkers, NY. He got his child involved as well. Norman was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet. His passing comes as a shock to me in a senseless tragedy. RIP Norman
@ Danny3000!!! Sure I am !! And I also remake on your thrive for attention !!! I'm a nice guy with a lot of patients for the needy ! But I warn you! If you mind wrestle with me, your brains might explode!!
yeh was toon bak in da day, real funk, real bass on dem ragga an toastin, sista bang out a tune wit out warbling up an down da scale, bro an sis sportin afro an nah yout abusin dog in fight wit dem controlin an abusin paedo personality, world shite now, wot appen 2 real strong caring tough man , 70's an 80's remember wit affection, jah world taken turn 4 da worse, but jazz funk rule 4 all colours brethren in da zone
Saw these guys in Greenboro in 1979, Rick James, Prince, Kleer and Clique. This was playing as we walked into the Colesium. Greatest party, DANNY ROBERSON, where are you road dog?????????
I love this song.In 1980,we played this song when our Elementary School team won it's Track and Field event. Also, when the Junior Bowling Team that I captained back in New York won our league,I had my father play this song on the 8-track as we were driving away. This is a very very hard core song my brothers and sisters of any race or creed.WINNERS DEFINETELY NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN.How will you know if you are ever going to win or succeed,if all you ever do is give up or quit. REALITY!
I recently went to a party and all they did was line dance. No one can dance anymore so they do these silly line dances. Its ok for a break in the monotony but is that all they do now? The guys are too thug to dance, they say dancing is gay. Well, just about everything is gay these days, a man cannot do anything.
@DoomCity202 They have everything to their advantage. Going out to dance was not just great because the music was good but the times were different-people had to work to get theirs. These kids don't have to do jack; technology and the media and quick fix opportunities for success have spoiled everyone. If we had this kind of technology back then, less crime, more opportunities and a black president would we be groovin' just as strong as we did back then? Think on that...
@spinradiofm What has a black president got to do with anything? Where is this easy success you speak of? More opportunities? The world is in turmoil, every country is in debt that they cant get out of, there are no jobs, rather be young in your time than today.
Dont be dissin the young today, not of all of us are took in by technology.
@DannyKing3000!!! Sure I am. And I also remake on your thrive for attention !! I'm a nice guy with a lot of patients for the needy ! But I warn you ! If you mind wrestle with me, Your brains might explode! : )
@DoomCity202 Technology has given has the chance to be talking about this great music but, unfortunately, it has made most of the younger generation indifferent and depending on their gadget toys. I see it everyday among my students. The mood has change since these records were made. Today, I see a bitter face on everyone except for those of us who feel like dancing as soon as this music begins !
Yeah.. What makes old records still stand out in the sense that they don't make your toes curl like some other records, is that for instance they didn't make the vocals too shabby. Not too much of a love/drama story, but poppy lyrics. And good music with not too much freaky synth of drum sounds. Ofcourse this is all very much a personal view/taste. But we can all agree we're listening here to one of the higher quality funk bands of those days. Love how this kind of jams really start rolling..
I remember playing the Trio Drums in Cedar Grove Marching Band to this song! That was a hard beat and fun! Then Robert decided to put his drum down and do the electric robot in front of the crowd to add to halftime entertainment! what a prat!
Hey SMURFEE06, great to see another orginal ol'schooler here, instead of the usual "kiddy collector". Great that u made the effort post. We had the same problem over here in Canada, funk got ZERO radio play, we had to hook up a huge antenna to bring in the stations from Buffalo and Detroit. I used to live by this track. thanks again.
This only starts kicking in in that bridge bit in the middle for me. Pure amazin boogie. Jeff John - where are you? Remember when I used to listen to this with you in your car when I was a shorty in Richmond?? Hit me up!
@silky1700 I KNOW YOU 'RE RIGHT ABOUT THAT ...... IT SEEMS THAT MANY OF THE SONGS WE LOVED.. ARE HARD TO FIND.....MANY WEREN'T TOP SELLERS .... I THINK THE RECORD COMP ARE TRYING TO MAKE WHAT THEY CAN, KNOWING THEY ARE RARE SONGS AND PEOPLE ARE STILL INTERESTED IN THEM.......!!!!!!!!
@Bengijo242 I know you right hopefully the record company is still sending these artists a check...But u know their not. This is my jam along with running back to you.
THE ALL TIME BEST WINNERS ANTHEM ..... VERY HARD TO FIND....... IN FACT I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE PAST YEAR OR TWO.....10 THUMBS UP FOR THIS ONE....!!!!!!!
My boys! One of the most underated groups ever.
