  • that's a big muhfuggin defect!!!! 1 yr follow up looks good tho.

  • I was 13 when I had this done, on both knees.

    It has been so successful.

    Im now 15

  • i had both kneed done at 16 and when i was 17, 18 month gap, were u able to return to full sporting actvitites or were u slightly limited

  • no idea i'm still recovering.

How about you were u limited?

I was told to stay away from contact sports and high impact sports such as skiing and trampolining

  • well 8 months after my irst i was feeling fine then my left knee blew up so needed to be done, i hpe to be playing football(soccer) cricket boxing ect and i couldnt do them before

  • oh thats strange before mine I wasn't limited at all, and I only felt pain when playing Australian rules football

  • Did you have it done on both knees at the same time? How long did it take before you were back to normal? Finally, what caused you to have knee problems? Thanks.

  • @Gibsomar Ahh no I only had it done on my right knee. It took roughly a year until I was able to play sport, but it might have been earlier if I didn't have troubles with my other knee as well. The doctors are unsure of the cause, it wasn't clear that there was an actual cause. I think it was just the way I was born. Plus countless years of football probably didn't help.

  • @Mclovin2602 how are your knees now? can you still play sport??? do you know of anyone who has had it in the ankle with success??

  • whats the success rate on this surgery?> i heard it takes 12-18 months for full recovery. if there is a full recovery.

  • i had this and am havin it again

  • Can't wait to have this done! Not!

  • had this done 3 years ago and it saved my knee. Technology is amazing.

  • I'm about to have this surgery!

Long recovery but hopefully worth it.!

I'm 27 and and avid skier. I have a lateral chondral lesion on my right femur. (with some roughage or cartalige under my knee cap.

What precausions would you advice on ensuring I do not rupture the sack that hold the chondrocyte cells?

Awesome that we can do this surgery. The molecular biology involved is amasing!!
