If memory serves, this was computer simulated footage from the Big Sir incident, not actual footage. Apparently, the entire incident was fully recorded on film, but the real footage was never shown to the public, as it was confiscated by gov't officials the minute it happened. We will NEVER see the actual footage.

I grew up in Great Falls, Montana and I could see Malmstrom just across town... My dad was an air traffic controller that worked at both GFI and Malmstrom... the original clip from CNN said that they had a team of animators that made that clip at 0:34 due to lack of footage from the military or other sources. So real event, no footage except that one used for "filller"
