Meiner einer schluckt grad mal 5 Liter und das bei normaler Fahrweise... sparsam fahren ca. 4,5l und zügig ca. 6.

Find das schon ganz in Ordnung und für die Landstraße reichen die 54 Ps dann auch einigermaßen aus.. gutes Fahranfängerauto halt...

@lulupupsi Wüsste nun nicht wo der Motor sparsam ist ... 8 Liter im Durschnitt unterbietet z.B. der Bmw 116i und der holt aus 1,6 Liter 115PS bzw. als FL Modell 1,6 Liter 122 PS wenn man den neusten hat 122PS aus 2Liter Hubraum

Wichtig ist Drehmoment ... deswegen fressen die kleinen Motoren auch soviel ... für mich total Undersized aber muss ja jeder selber wissen :)

sales talk only - they do nothing apart from allow unfiltered air in to the engine. Unfold one and the area is about 2ft of mesh/cotton compared to 11ft of a paper element. A paper element filters smaller particles and has no oil to break the MAF sensor. Paper =£3, K&N=£80? 10filters=£30 per 100,000miles compared to having to clean a K&N every 5000miles when it blocks. £30 compared to £280 over the life of the car. £20 for two cleaning kits each year. K&N are a waste of time & money.

ive got one on my corsa an it might give you a tiny bit of performance but its not that noticable, the thing that swayed me is that it inproves your fuel econemy an theyl last 100k miles before it needs cleaning so it saved me money! =]

well your entitled to your opinion but i have a level 3 national diploma in automotive engineering and improved airflow improves efficiency and reduces resistance which improves economy.

i am interested by your sources of information and how you came to the conclusion that it would increase your fuel consumption, i can only assume you are referring to track use were it would be used at full throttle most of the time in which case the increased airflow would cause more fuel to be injected.

I am glad you realise it does FA apart from make a noise! It has no effect or control over fuel economy. They block every 5000miles and reduce performance. They are aimed at boy racers who don't know the difference between air intake and fuel injection or even how an engine works. Fitted to tiny engined cars to make a noise when all it does is slow you down. Stick to the original filter housing and paper element, on a rolling road you will get more power than using a K&N.

tbh if i had a choice id use a k&n panel filter as these wont require replacing for basicly the life of the engine and have less effects like noise etc, the only reasion i have fitted one on mine is that it cost me £10 and in my mind thats cheaper than a paper filter every 10k

id have to disagree with you on the front of redicing performance but you certenly dont gain an worth speeking of.

the main advantage you can take from this is having a cold air feed but this goon hasnt got one! lol

the cone filter will give you a better (louder) sound which is up to you to decide if thats a good thing or not,

performance wise theres very little in it

what are you driving?

some airboxes have restricters in them (corsas do) which you can bypass by drilling holes in them, tho your best bet is to look up some specific details for your car before you take a drill to it!

yeh induction noise like a sucking sound and a deep kinda runble.

if you want to find out how itl sound take off your air filter an rev it up a few times but b carefull not to get any dust or anything in there an proberly dont drive it withought an air filter.

id keep it with the panel filter tbh coz your running a turbo the cone filter will make a very marginal diference and it might be a bit loud on a diesel.

has that model got an intercooler? if not that would be a good mod for you

erm wel ebc greens are good but they seem to go abit spongey and nt as good as they used to be and sometimes i dnt seem to top as much as expected. im not sure if its the pads, my brakes or that im used to the brakes so i dont notice anymore, ive read reviews saying the same thing....that they are good but then go abit down hill.

no, not a thing apart from allow big bits of muck in to the engine, make a noise and reduce performance every 5000miles when they need cleaning out. Expensive, not very good at filtering and a small surface area with oil to ruin your MAF sensor. Why do people bother with them. They obviously don't have a clue about cars or engines - that will be boy racers then!

waste of money for no performance gain. Stick to the original components for maximum power.

also id say to this your maf sencor should be alright providing the filter is well maintained and not over oiled which i recignise will knacker you mass air flow sencor

id say a good way to improve performance more than a cone filter would be adding a proper cold air feed to the standard airbox which will alow colder (dencer) air to be inducted.

the advantage of doing this to these kind of engines is that the maf sencor will sort out all your fueling ratios so you can expreement easily

My corsa is Basicly standard, except that i have lowered it a little(10 mm) and its chip tunned and has bigger injectors(done by the previous owner) so it has 70-75 Hp insted of 55. I think thats good, consider its a 1.0 3 cylinder eninge.
