I have two Hermit Crabs and they won't switch shells because the shells they are in now are to small for them? What am I suppose to do? I have bigger shells for them and they don't seem to switch shells?
The shell is not to big. Im sure he'll love it! I think it's great that your tank is so nice! I have seen to many hermit crab tanks on-line that are plastic, small, with only painted shells...ect. But you're tank looks great!! Awsome job! Aww, what a cute kitty too!
that video is awesome... I was watching my own crab wondering around this morning and he looked like he was going to change shells, and I was cheering, haha... I wanted to see him naked... and then he decided not to and my first instinct was to look on youtube to see a hermit crab change shells, ohhhh the technological age we live in.

I love hamsters, too. And rats, and guinea pigs... I've had them all. They're just so cute ^_^ Currently, I just have the hermies and 7 cats, though.

two of my hermit crabs changed shells. but everytime they do, we just miss it. we see it check the shell out and then we see the new shell walk away.

It's smart how it checks to see if the shell is taken because if he was going to move in without checking, it could get killed by another crab.
