  • Good lesson, but this is not really a Freddie King lick...It's a Lightin' Hopkins Lick....I think without a Lightin' Hopkins lick in your gig bag you don't sound authentic....Yeah Delta blues had more players and had more influence but Texas Blues has that bite to it.....To me its part of what made SVR the real thang and not some cover act. Blind Lemon JEFFERSON taught both Lightin' Hopkins and T-Bone Walker to play guitar.

  • very classy, thank you .. EC used it (a sort) in the unplugged version of "Before you accuse me"

Thank for all your lessons, very clear and precious

    Brunello

  • U know I usually watch ur vids in amazement buy now i think im gonna try learning this :P one of ur best videos definately rob!

  • @DragonRory17 Thanks, glad you like it.

  • Great job. A suggestion: Point out that the lick is simply tracing variants of the A chord (A, A9, A7)--so it's just a fancy way of playing the A in the chord progression. Keep it up!

  • thanks! great lesson.

  • i always tell my self not to click on your vids, then when i do i spend half an hour looking at them then i finde my self with the guitar in my hands playing the licks

  • sounds like the magic sam lick in sweet home chicago

  • Great session again - thank you!

  • I really enjoyed this lesson. I have some trouble making my licks flow when playing a 12 bar blues and this will be a pretty nifty lick to have in my library. Much appreciated, Robert.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks roten. I've been needing some help with the 4-5 chord because I'm always jamin' on the 1 or root chord.

  • nice lessom. well done.

  • Hi Robert.

It is Freddy King lick LOL I think every blues player, plays Freddys stuff, he was the first I ever heard play like he plays.

    Wow a great lesson.

    Thank you for sharing

    Steveo

  • @steveo27545 Yep, I was listening to Freddie the other day on youtube, and I heard him fire of a series of licks similar to this. Then Clapton, SRV and many others started playing similar licks. Freddie sure was a KING!

  • @Stepanskiy23 The chords in a 12 bar blues in E are

    E, A and B.

    The form is:

    E A E E

    A A E E

    B A E B

  • Hi Robert, I noticed your step up in video quality lately, what camera do you use? Thanks for posting it, keep 'em coming!

  • @YofterMofter Canon Vixia HG-20

  • @rotren Thank you very much for the quick reply!

  • why dont u use notes? tabs are more difficult to read^^ they are confusing, and make no sense^^

  • @marino4691 i know, everybody uses tabs :/

  • @marino4691 because more people want tabs, compared to notation. I can provide both though.

  • @marino4691 WHAT? is that just some saying to say to people and boast that you can read notes well? Tabs for guitar are so much easier to learn things you've already heard. esspecially if it's a video tutorial. i read notes and sheet music, i thought tabs would take ages to get use to but they are so easy to learn songs by i use them all the time to practice random songs to make my technique and overall guitar playing better.

  • @MadJack122 no, the problem is, that i dont understand every english word so its easier if i see notes. if the tut was in german, tabs would be nice ^^

  • I love it! :D

Thakns for the tabs, you really help me! :D

    Val.

  • Love the tabs at the bottom, so I don't have to watch the whole thing. :)

  • Thanks for the tabs!

  • awesomeeeeeee
