  • Wire best song for me on the album

  • Fuckin top whack song.

  • "Oh, don't sorrow, no don't weep, for tonight at last

    I am coming home."

  • THIS IS THE BEST SONG OF THE ALBUM UNFORGETTABLE FIRE!

  • Así de simple: Me erizó la piel.

  • Bad , Sort of Homecoming and Unforgettable by far 3 of the best if not the best 3 U2 songs. I just cant come up with a trifecta like that from anny album

  • Someone please tell me the place and the date of this show!

  • This song makes me feel like on rainy sunday mornings, when you get up alone and you go take a warm shower, while the weather is grey outside...

  • the city is berlin? :S

  • I love that album and that U2 era, it was the time when bono had a "bad hair year" xD

  • A melhor música do U2! Todo show tinha que tocar!

  • This is definitively my fav' U2 song . Gorgeous .

  • Will be my funeral song!

  • @dussikkeyvar12 Mine too.

  • 102,436 people watched this video and not one dislike. That's U2...

  • which is recorded the concert?

  • PERFEC!!!!!

  • I love this album, but I think anyone who doesn't pick Joshua Tree is kinda lying to themselves, a little. "A Sort Of Homecoming" is a close second, but "Wire" is the real hidden gem on TUF.

  • This is my favourite U2 song too! It has an incomparable ethereal quality to it...

  • i think wide awake in america is the best... this song is good on the unforgettable fire too because it has an entirely different feel. but 'bad' is immensely better on wide awake; the unforgettable fire version falls short of the live track

  • It's their best song at my taste !

  • first time i heard this was when i dug out my dads old vinyls one day, had never heard this song before but its definitely one of their best.

  • I remember seeing this on Rage. It is a really good version

  • Back when Rage played a lot more good music than it does now

  • Thumbs up if you listen to this in the airport on your way home. I sure do. :)

  • my favourite band of all time. a song from my favourite album of all time. alot of people jumped on board with joshua tree, but i think unforgettable fire is immensely better.

  • i still love u2, but this is when they were the bestest

  • The Unforgettable Fire is their best album for 3 reasons:

    1) The song "Bad" is on it.

    2) It's a masterpiece of musical innovation

    3) The song "Bad" is on it

  • @yankeejoe2002 come on!! elvis presley in america? it's the worst U2 song ever!!

  • @yankeejoe2002 i couldnt agree with you more

  • tied w/ unforgettable fire as the greatest U2 song

  • might be my fave as well

  • The studio version of this song is fantastic. But this live version blows the hinges right off of it. It never fails to give me shivers everytime I listen to it.

  • U2 at one of theri best moments in their career. Great period mid of 80s till Zootv era.

  • @DOMGO73 Yes agree, this was U2 at their very best, and all the early stuff, then they seemed to loose the plot, good memories though

  • aaah 1984 unforgettable fire tour the bowl milton keyenes bowl ,those were the days

  • i love this song, passion

  • Best song ... keeps my spirits high when I travel. I will be home.

  • Best song ... keeps my spirits high when I travel. I will be home

  • Back to Superjail?

  • That mullet is just epic.

  • U2 MASTERPIECE!!!

  • what dvd is this from?

  • @shellworld40 No DVD. An old video ca. 1984.

  • I worked for a time with the US National Park Service at Yorktown, VA. On my flight back home, this was one of the tracks that the airline played on the classic rock channel. Very apt, and I just love the song. The girl sat next to me on the plane was looking at me like I was crazy because I was nodding my head to that bass line.

  • @776jamie hope you tapped that shit

  • They still play this song in concert, but rarely...

  • erg mooi hoor

  • Zero Dislikes to date...

  • It's just a shame that they don't play this song live anymore... imagine this live in Dublin...... THAT would be something huh..

  • Bono with a mullet, Edge without a doo rag -- ah the good old days

  • ....all around....

  • I had a chance to see U2 on this tour, 8th row center FOR FREE and I turned it down because I didn't really know their music! A year later when I heard "live at Red Rocks" I became (and still am) a HUGE fan and am kicking myself for turning down that ticket to this day.

  • This song came to be when I was writing to my 1st love that I haven't

scene in over 20 years. See You soon Donna !!!

  • remeber this days u2 changed the world kids was was pluged in to mtv never forget the 80s

  • So eerie to hear "I'll Go Crazy" at the end

  • pues ya somos 3 conmigo:)

    Amo esta cancion!!!

  • this live version is the best..

  • ¡COMO AMO ESTA CANCIÓN!!!!!!!

  • @centellas07 somos dos

  • @34bogas ¡BUENA AMIGO!!!!!...LA PRIMERA ÉPOCA DE U2, FUE LA MEJOR , PARA MÍ!!!!

  • bono with a mullet cut, wish they would work this song into the 360 tour

  • @SWSWines1 I totally agree. Saw them in Charlottesville VA 10/1/09 and going to see them in Philadelphia 7/14/11. I want this song played at my funeral. At my wedding my husband and I had oour frist dance to All I Want Is You - I'd also like to have that in the 360 tour.

  • This is such great performance of this song! I wish I could have seen U2 perform during this era.

  • when the bus draws up that is glasgow barrowlands i was at this concert

  • I feel in heaven when I listen this track

No spoken words just a screaaaaaaaaaaaam!

    E P I C

  • a hell of a time

  • bellissima e' dire

  • The summer skies of 1984 I remember when I was at High School. The innocence of that age and the friends, family and good times we had back in those days. And last but not least the release of this great album.......The Unforgettable Fire.

  • I heard this song everyday when i was living outside my hometown, hard times... i wished so bad to come back home, and finally this month i am back again!! s2

  • thank you for posting this

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • greatest rock band in the world! :)

  • Bono's voice was slippery and could sneak inside your soul

  • Awesome song!!

  • Unforgettable Fire - best U2 album ever!

  • rage ftw!

    love U2

  • i LOVE THIS .

  • Turin 2010, dream setlist: A sort of Homecoming The Fly MOFO Discotheque Bad The Unforgettable fire Zoo Station Ultraviolet City of Blinding Lights Unknown caller ACROBAT (yeah, sure xD) Cedars of Lebanon Then I would be ready to die.
  • bonehead...

  • Brilliant.

  • great mullet Bono - saw them on their Unforgettable Fire tour and for 2 hours I was transported to the wonderful world of U2 - they were truly amazing

  • Great song from a great band! Shame about Bono's back injury. Maybe somebody is trying to tell him something.

  • Amazing song! I really miss the old U2!!

  • oh yes !

  • even now....this music is so different, so heart-warming, so beautifully irish

  • una delle canzoni più belle degli U2,troppo poco eseguita purtroppo.

  • I like it! :)

  • This is, perhaps, my favorite U2 song.

  • toniiiiiight, we'll build a bridge, across the sea and land!!! brilliant song by a brilliant band!!!

  • this is the real u2 when they couldn't put a foot wrong brings back so many happy memories this video was shoot @ the famous Glasgow barrowlands what a night number 1 u2 fan

  • one of those instances where the live version blows the studio version away. This is transcendental. pure and simple gold.

  • blow ure gran

  • Great video, thanks! It looks official, but on Wikipedia just 2 singles are listed for Unforgettable Fire (Pride and TUF)... *wondering*

  • @Xalira06 It's not from the '84 Unforgettable Fire release, but rather, a live EP the year after in '85--Wide Awake in America.

  • My favorite all time U2 song

  • a melhor fase do u2 pra mim e essa ai dos 80 esse album com essa musica tem muita historia

  • this song brings for me instant decade ol' flashbacks of cruisin through Colorado and New Mexico's sleet & snow in the 75 dodge van

  • If I had to survive a nuclear holocaust, I would hope I would have a enough juice left in my Ipod to listen The Unforgettable Fire, before sucomming to radiation.

  • @mediblue9 AMEN!

  • wish they brought this back instead of the unforgettable fire for the 360 tour

  • OLEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Pedazo de Canción! Un clásico que no se por que motivo no está suficientemente valorado, es poco conocida si bien tiene una letra muy elaborada y la musica es muy pegadiza.

  • @jmavox Concuerdo totalmente contigo. Sin embargo, la versión del disco es mejor que en vivo. Le falta intensidad a la actuación, sobre todo en las vocales.

  • If you don't own The Unforgettable Fire, I think you mat be missing out on the finest album they have ever released and perhaps the best album of that decade. The single "Pride" is probably my least favorite track, although I still like the song. The rest of the album is much different than the song Pride imho.

Check out the track "Wire" and listen to the Edge's guitar work. I never get sick of hearing this album and I've been listening to it for 25 years.

  • I totally get the chills from this tune. Amazing song/band

  • This version rocks

  • This has got to be the greatest 4 song cassette I had ever listened to.

  • Taking a break from Help for Haiti. Just saw Bono with JayZ & Rihanna. He looks soooo much better as a mature man. Did he ever regret this mullet???

  • You were supposed to have a mullet back then, will kids of today regret wearing jeans halfway down their ass?

  • I know it s funny, but that was top of the fashion in the 80 s ;)

  • he propably didnt Cause he had a mullet in all that you cant leave behind and how to dismatle and atomic bomb

  • Is this audio the WAIA version?

  • yes

  • Great song

  • 1984...was 14, just getting into music & this was 1st tune I heard of theirs...blew my mind!

  • The lyrics of this song are a poem... I used this song when I came back to my hometown. I will use it again when I come back there.

  • @ClearViewWater

made me cry when i was 13 2 yrs ago

  • @ClearViewWater - Likewise, the greatest of days

  • @ClearViewWater

me too, I was 14 and I discovered U2 now I'm 41 still with the same fire!

  • for tonight....at last.....I am coming home

    I am coming home....

  • 2:41 to 2:47 - OMG!! U2 stating their case to be the greatest rock band in the world - pretty damn convincing one at that!

  • Wow, I remember watching this as a kid back in '85 on the public access channel in my town. Seems weird now, what with how big U2 is (well, they were pretty darn popular back then, just not as overexposed). They were massively powerful without all the fuss (I remember watching the Oprah show on rock censorship back in the mid 80s and she didn't even know who U2 was. Now she and Bono are like best friends!) and such. Only thing was the music and the passion. Thanks for the post.

  • Was this used in any of the movies?!

  • Achtungirl, where did you find this? I've always loved this song.

  • This song kept me focused while deployed in the US Navy. Listened to this cassette tape everyday for 6 months, '86.

  • I saw U2 back on December 7th, 1980 at the Bayou Club in Washington D.C. They were virtually unknown at the time. Bono was the same age I was at the time. (20 years old) This December 7th will mark 29 years that I first laid eyes on this magnificent band.

  • Good part of the story ...you are back your home - finally !!

  • @bishopk99

Amazing, I posted this to my facebook with the memory ofbeing stationed on the Korean DMZ with the Second Infantry Division. We would watch jetcraft launch from South Korea, fly to the DMZ and immediately pull back as a MIG from the North would appear and do the same- a game of high tech high risk cat and mouse while me and the signal company lsitened to the drama of felid excersises on the radio s with Unforgettable Fire playing. AMAZING you hold a similar memory.

  • @veryverymakmak

May 1988 to May 1989 for me

  • @bishopk99 Kill any civilians, yank?

  • @bishopk99 What ship were you on? I returned from a med cruise on the Saratoga in 86

  • u2's most underated album, would of loved to see this live

  • saw them Sunday in Oklahoma City.....Amazing!

  • Thanks achtungirl. This version stick outs. I missed them as a kid in 1984, but saw them, second row, in 1987 for the Joshua Tree tour. Unforgettable.

  • lucky bastard! :)

  • Wow, very very lucky, U2 at their peak!

  • what a great song and what a great song title-"A sort of home coming" U2 at their best-fantastic

  • ...sto tornando a casa...sto tornando a casa

  • I am coming home......I am coming home !!!

  • someone once told me that he was hearing this song in one ear, and in the other ear he was hearing some sweet whispered words, but it wasn't me who was whispering...

  • U2 was and is the best band on the planet

  • God i remember when this video came out...........shut up you idiot yr showing yr age.

  • Haha saltedpeanut2!! I remember when this came out too!! Startin' to feel old!

  • We may be old mate......but we're still hip to the jive !

  • Nice mullet, Bono. Good song though.

  • ...........love this song, the way Bono sings and feels it..the way they play the instruments...whole song, them whole...

  • It really sounds good in the live format.

The heavy Eno production on TUF didn't always do justice to the songs, I thought.

  • After U2. No Band has ever topped that passion these 4 guys feel for music... Great bands existed before, but after U2. I have seen good bands but never great bands... The Only One Probably. Pearl Jam... And Smashing Pumpkins, and maybe Rammstein. However each of this band represent a different style.

  • I have seen the Rock Passion before U2. But after them No body has ever topped them... U2 is among the greatest Rock Bands in History... That passion is sublime...

  • Maravillosa cancion...muy potente y con un gran mensaje,es mi favorita!:)

  • best song of U2 in 33 years

  • Heh. The Edge still had hair!!

    LOL

  • bella, bella, bella.

    grazie per averla pubblicata

  • Amazin!! Thanks for posting.

  • and your earth moves beneath your own dream landscape.....

  • Toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigght

  • Thanks for the Post!!!!

  • my favorite song of all time.

  • Love it as a kid when MTV used to play this video !

We know we''ll never see it on there today !

  • Or any other video for that matter. Remember when MTV used to actually play videos?

  • Genius but so much better in the 80s.

  • I have just went to u2 myspace. I can't believe how AWESOME the song "unknown caller" is. This whole album minus the turd know as "get on your boots" is mindblowingly excellent!!!! They are at the top of their game with this one. I had planned not to buy any songs from the album because of the "turd" as a matter of fact I was very angry with this song. Now, I feel this is easily one of their top works of art and I will make it a priority of to own it!!! Great job men!!

  • That's how you become a legend...you keep going and going...you don't burn out after hit #2.

  • You've got bigger problems that being pissed at U2. Either you can't spell or you can't type. Sort yourself out before you post again. It's SO FUCKING ANNOYING!!!

  • Your a clearly an idiot

  • This is a very unhappy song and i cried coz the pain is very servere and strict i tried to wipe the tear out of my eyes but i felt about marrissa gramond's funeral she died in a car accident aged 17 she was a nasty woman i had no sympathy 4 her but the song reminds me of the story of the prodigal son but i decided to cope with the pain.

  • you sound like a fag

  • it's true

  • I really really love this song! Amazing!!

  • One of my favorite U2 songs. Not played on the radio much, if any.

  • V-66 (Boston's own video station...much better than MTV) used to play it all the time.

  • I love this song and video! U2 rocks!

  • I loved this song... I miss the sincerity and purity of early U2. Full of faith, piss and vinegar. May Mr. Hewson and Mr. Evans remember their roots again and make great music again, wow what a song! God bless 'em!
