they got the rim size and the distance from the wheel to fender wrong. and the paint job's not that great really. specially for the price you pay. i wish kyosho or CMC makes one.
Hi my friend, i am not sure if you had made a video like this before but if not can you make a video of the same car, one bein elite and one Non elite, and discuss and compare the differences
@SkateborderX12 I went back and had another look - and they're done in plastic. BUT... the casting truly looks like screening. The "mesh" is very tight, and the pieces have been sprayed with a semi-metallic, dark anthracite color. Looks pretty cool.
@rojhanaosman Hello - I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have a clue! My best suggestion is to visit the Hot Wheels Elite web site, and see if they have an international listing of distributors and retailers.
Sorry I couldn't be of better help! Thanks for watching.
@ivanfoo86 It's magic, LOL! Actually, I use a bit of some very sticky stuff called butyl rubber. It used to be used as a windshield adhesive on some cars. It's still commercially available (in rolls), and it'll stick to just about anything. You have to be careful of detail parts, though.
An alternate material would be "fun tack" - the stuff that's sold in office supply stores to temporarily adhere notes, etc. to walls without leaving residue behind.
@ThePrivateJJ The BBRs are incredible models. We have a pre-production 430 here (somewhere), and even in pre-manufactured form, it's stunning. Lots of details and features. Unfortunately, because it was a show model that got sent all over the world, it's also pretty beat up - definitely a restoration project for some time in the future.
We'll see about getting some BBR models in soon for review.
hey sir thanks for the great review, always love to watch your channel. this is the model i like most but too bad it doesn't perfect. :( the mirror inside not stick well, body paint also not perfect, & the decals also dint allighed nicely. haiz, really sad on that case.
@Thecarroom yup, it is expensive to me & that's my hard saving money T.T that's quite hurt.. especially those decals & mirror inside, really more like an expensive toy for child.
i am thinking whether should i buy 1 more unit, but i worry that will have same things happen on the 2nd unit too. since this is the model i like most among all the cars, that's why i really can't accept the quality level.
thanks for your review, will keep follow up your other review =)
Hey man very cool and awesome channel you have here and i was wondering if anyone will be making the lamborghini sesto elemento beside mr collection ?
@WarhawkLegend69 That's a good question. Licensing can be a tough deal, and manufacturers need to know that they're going to get that up-front money back... a niche maker like MR (who makes excellent model cars) can do a limited run and get away with it, but a mass maker like Mattel is usually a different story.
@SkateborderX12 They're available pretty much everywhere on the web, for around $100.00. You can try retailers like Replicarz, or go to the Mattel Hot Wheels Elite web page (mentioned in the video) and see if they have a retailer locator.
I got this model too based on the car room tv and I'm very pleased with it!
It's quality is of a good kyosho model. The painting is beautiful, the interior is very good and even the engine is ok.
In fact Mattel can improve it a lot with very small finishing touches: the door handles and the gas latch are not much and the most important: the exhausts tips are not perforeted!
@RoadRunnerDrummerJD Good question! "Photoetching" (or "photo etching", or "chemical milling") is a process where metal is shaped with corrosives after being treated with a photo-sensitive "resist" compound. After being exposed to light through a template, the compound is developed, making certain areas of the metal impervious to the corrosive. After the metal is dipped into the acid, the "developed" areas are left behind as fine detail parts.
@hotelgulf718 Thanks! We're glad that the videos are getting the word out about the hobby. A lot of new collectors are seeing some of these things for the first time and joining the fun.
they are very poor compared to others considering the price of them, the wheels are the wrong size & the half open windows ruin the whole look of the models
I got this model too. The MODEL OVERALL IS GOOD! But if a collector is too meticulous he/she may find the slight inaccuracy of the wheels. Many factors may affected this such as that the brake discs maybe too small to match the wheels, or that the rubber tire specially the rear tire has a thick sidewall. Let us take note that the '458 uses 20-inch rims though. Another one would be the inaccurate exhaust pipes, in fact it's been designed far from the original tail pipes of the 458 Italia.
I ordered the red one last week on eBay for $98 with shipping. I kinda wanted the yellow one, but decided to go for the red because my Ferrari F430 and 360 Modena elite models are also red.
Ok. I just got my model yesterday. A little disapointed because there are 3 spots on the hood with "touch-up" paint - noticeable because it's on the hood and the touch-up paint is not level with the rest of the paint. One of the doors is also a little scratched because the plastic strip Mattel used to secure the door shut in the package must've been a little too tight.
Otherwise, the model is GORGEOUS.There are SO MANY little details in the cockpit!Just like my AutoArt models!!
@Thecarroom I sold it on eBay. I paid $92 for the red model, and was able to sell it for $80 used. So I only lost $12. I ended up replacing it with a metallic yellow version instead and am super happy. The paint job is perfect. I like the yellow one a lot better because it's mettalic and the gorgeous red rear lights contrasts really well against the bright yellow paint. Though I like the red Italia's beige interior better because the yellow Italia comes with a black & dark hard-to-see interior.
I keep looking for these but no one has them in stock yet. Did you have a chance to see the yellow 458 yet? From what I could tell it is metallic. I had my mind set on the red but the yellow is really beautiful.
@SuperCarMania Hello - we're more and more impressed by this company, and can't wait to see what they have in store when we visit their booth in Germany this Spring.
its got stupid exaust pipes which are plastic and cheap

The grills nest to the tail lights, are they a peice of plastic or does it have holes?

BBR has also made a model of the 458 in 1:18, but it's about 7 times more expensive! Would like to see that on the show.
