its kinda the same from what i hear but now its all about doing donuts and burnouts for some reason. i went last saturday there was alot of cars but to many kids there. and it also takes way to long to get to the spot.
DPA was the place to be in then 90's. I remember heading out there in my 1992 Sentra SE-R. Between the racing and picking up some DPA hoes it was always a fun night out. I bet it's just not the same now...
it changed from the 80s till now because of the society we live it today. back then copes didnt care so much. im 21 years old and i live on deer park avenue my whole life. my father always tell me storys about his days of dpa driving. he told me a time when he was drunk and a cope nailed him for it. the cope told him to pull over and sleep it off. could you imagine if you got caught drinking and racing on dpa today? omg, forgetaboutit. anyway, i own green nova, ill be there this summer
yea its still going down pretty good, the train station is where its at,after the cops roll thru there we head down to the industrial road where it was going pretty good then after that was I-109 all weekend long
I was a regular back in the 80's. The Sears (Channel) parking lot was packed on a Friday or Saturday night. Deer Park Ave was in Car Craft magazine back then. They rated it as one of the TOP TEN hottest cruising spot in the country. I still have the article somewhere. We even had a start/ finish line spray painted in the street. Lots of old school muscle cars back then.
I agree with you one thousand percent Dave!DPA will never be as good as it was like back in the 80's. I'm from Bklyn and used to go up there with my friends every weekend to visit my cousins and cruise the avenue. It was definitley worth the trip.. It can't compare to how it is now a days.. no comparison.. It's like night and day.
i was up at dpa tonite,, a lot of hot whips showed up at the meet b4 the races but cops showed up and gave 2 ppl tickets and kicked everyone out, they were all ova da placee.. fuckin shame
Its still popping, but not like it used to be. They now change up their spots, I miss the good old days.

I'm pretty sure that DPA was popping until at least 2005.. Haven't been there recently, but from what I hear it's trash.
