Gauge is a unit of measurement. The jewelry for stretched ears are called plugs. Saying "gauge sizes" would be like saying " inch sizes" it doesn't make any sense.

It doesn't matter u can just use stud looking one, which are called plugs and tapers are used to stretch, I'm at a size 10 moving to a size 8g.

Right now I'm a 0g in my right ear and a 2 in my left because i lost my other pincer to stretch with [Yes, I use pincers to stretch, some people say its not good and to use tapers, but pincers work better for me.] and my friend has my 0g plugs :|

Yea I agree its really not worth it before at least a 2. Thats when you can first fit most standard size straws through. Why I have that pic of when I was at 2 there. However, I would suggest waiting until a 00 because thats when they actually start to look good. @TheRealzSoLiD

I got my ears pierced at Claires and i guess they do it at a size 20 but i kind of want to go JUST to a 16 right now...How much bigger is 16 then a 20 and can you really tell the difference like is it a noticeable change?

@TyTyKaye if your ears have been healed for a while then just got straight to 16. If you go carefully it will be fine! Your not meant to skip sizes but missing 18 wont hurt. I was pierced at 18 and went straight to 14 and my ears are very health!

It depended upon the size and how it was healing. For smaller sizes I would wait a couple weeks. Once I got to about a 4 gauge I stretched it out to three weeks and the bigger ones a month or more. I wasn't in a rush to stretch them. Using Aloe Vera gel to stretch with and vitamin e oil in between stretches really reduces the time you have to wait for your ear to heal. @xXawkwardsilenceXx

I think that most females look fine with gauges up to about 3/4 of an inch. My hair still covers mine. Anything over an inch I wouldnt recommend. I would not use silcone to stretch with, Ive seen too many friends blow out their ear that way. Tapers arent that great once you get past 00g either. I would use tape to wrap around your plugs to slowly stretch up @miny345
