  • Me and you lasting until the death of time. But now I stand here, in this beautiful rain. Knowing you have another man. Knowing you want nothing to do with me anymore and you have moved on. And I realize something.

    You're an alien

    I'm an alien.

    It's a beautiful rain.

    -Ryan

  • You and I wish I could go back to that day and just tell myself to stay. I could forgive the lies you told me, I could forgive all the tears and the pain. I just wanted you to stay with me. You were the best thing that ever happened to me.

And yeah, I'd still marry you if you'd let me. I know I said I felt trapped, I know I said I felt obligated but you know what? I would have been happy with you. I didn't propose because it was the right thing to do at the time. I Proposed because I could see-

  • Sierra,

I don't know what happened between you and me. I only have some guesses and the day I know things changed. I went back out there to keep doing my thing, you hated that I wasn't here with you all the time. You hated that I spent so much times with my friends trying to figure out what I was going to do with myself. I had just failed out of college because you know what? I wasn't ready for it. I lacked the discipline to follow through with what I wanted to do.

I see things I did to upset-

  • I must comment twice....BEAUTIFUL

  • DAMN....dont understand the top comments lol

  • awesome song love it

  • this is my favorite Bush song...by far. love it

  • beautiful song!

  • Man why these guy's get a bad rap I'll never know. And I don't care to know. This song is fucking beautiful.

  • @TheLoonyMoon13 same reason bands like kula shaker and Stone temple pliots got bashed...people couldn't handle the perfection. branded em wannabes. this song is absolutely amazing, I agree!

  • Is there a more beautiful song? This is in itself a representation of love - warm, soft and gentle in places, and at other times hard, harsh and powerful.

    It's incredible.

  • when i listen to this song its pure nostalgia; transported back to when i was kid and bush x was my fav band.

  • my wife and i decided 8 years ago for this to be our wedding song. best decision for the wedding. beautiful song and when i listen to it i think of nothing but her. thanks bush for all of your music. first ballot rock and roll hall of fame.

  • You know when you find an album you fucking ADORED but haven't heard in a long time? This is right now. Sixteen Stone by Bush. Ah, It's summer and I'm a little 10 year old kid in Queens again, It's spring and I'm 17 in Pennsylvania. It's fall, I'm 19, and I'm starting school riding the bus to Manhattan. It's Winter, I'm 22, and it still fucking ROCKS from the first song on! Alien almost gives me chills when I sing it, ya know?

  • GREAT SONG REALLY GOOD

  • Bush was the first concert I ever went to, with Goo Goo Dolls and No Doubt opening. First row baby, and this song was amazing live. Sidenote: I was about 15 feet from Gwen Stefani, and at 13, I would have cut off my left leg if she asked me to.

  • Ugh why couldn't my mom jump on my dad sooner so I could pop out earlier?! Love the 90's music, and wish I could've been alive longer through this! All instead of the nasty crap we have now a days...

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! Bush will live on through us

  • mmmmmm

  • Feedback Ebb Extraordinaire! The atmosphere and gritty drops are excellent. :)

  • this song is amazing.

i reallly wish i grow up in the '90's. although i was born in '95 i listen to & act as if i lived my life through that decade.

i still like playing this CD & blasting it on my stereo like its going out of style.. haha

  • The 90's... A great decade for music.

  • this song is so fucking awesome

  • The Toadies, Filter, Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Mad Season, Deftones.

  • this song reminds me of bad heroin trips

  • When I was in 8th and 9th Grade I was obsessed with Metallica and Bush. 95-97. I couldn't get enough of them all. I remember this song so fondly. The first time I heard it I was going to sleep to this album this is the years waaaay before Ipods. I had a discman and I remember waking up going wtf this song kicks ass. ZZZZZZZZZ back out. So I listened to it again when I was awake and fell in love with it.

  • I loved this song, this album and this decade......truley a great decade the 90's and the music we had from rock, rap etc was truly truly great...think crazy jay 80 summed it up....smoking some weed, kicking it with girls, high school football, no stress, no worries and an excellent time

  • At the end i was expecting to hear "MOOOOOO that what i fear YOU WONT COME IN WHEN YOU'RE DOWN" lol

  • Cinematic Love Trucks FTW!!

  • 6:36.......and exhale...

  • A perfect example of 'less is more'. You don't need 3 guitars all playing the same riff smothered in overdrive and pro co rat pedal goop. It's stripped down, riddled with emotion and desperation.... Rare and undeniably powerful.

  • this makes my hairs stand on end.

  • Man I miss these times, so simple, a world that was still so big and full of adventure.

  • I discovered this song at age 15, back in 2008. Reading all these comments referring to the 90s makes me feel as if I'd just discovered an ancient, groundbreaking artefact that speaks volumes about human evolution during the 90s =)

  • @Mehlwurm18 the 90's were the best: porno for pyros, bush, STP, nirvana...

  • Love this song! Takes me back to 16 again, hanging with my best friend, getting high and thinking about how I would never get old....

  • This song really spoke to me as a teen. I was a misfit and I always felt like an alien in that small town.

  • one of the many countless 90s songs that I love, brings back so many memory, defently my favorite era of music, not a single dislike thumbs up ;o)

  • the memories i has with this song are countless...i was in 6th grade and i used to listen to this on my portable cd player every night b4 i went to bed

  • i, too, would sit in the dark and let the song take me over...great song!!! great band!!! reminds me of high school. it was by far my favorite album out.

  • As a young teen I would lie in the dark and let this song just wash over me. I love it.

  • this was our song :(

  • Lots of good memories associated with this one..

  • I love how there's all these comments of people listening to Bush when they were in high school back in the day, and I'm also listening to Bush in my current high school days dispite the fact that music taste has GREATLY changed. :)

  • This takes me back to my High School Days ,The good old days when I use to jam out on my guitar, This was always the first tune I would play on my guitar before and after anything else, Nothing will ever beat a Florida Sunset , a Six String in your hands, a can of Mountain Dew,and some awesome tuneage.

  • TY B, for me a pfct song.

  • great song! takes me back to simpler times, riding with my brother to school.

  • I'm truly jealous of all of those who grew up in the 90s listening to this music. When trying to compare the music now to this, well... they don't even compare.

  • @Fizzyfoe Yeah, sucks for you. :)

  • @Fizzyfoe

sad but so true, thats the way i feel about it too, even longer back..

  • @Fizzyfoe 10 years ago the same was said about the 80s

  • @deestavo Not a true story. I grew up in the 90's and always have thought 80's music sucked the big one.

  • @DTHFRMABVU actually i think you do

  • @deestavo Im a musically involved person, i am highly eclectic and have a huge appreciation for art in general. I find his statement to be true, going through 2 great musical decades and being able to watch music evolve into what its become has been hard. I like some of the sounds but , the way i see it, music had plateaued if not regressed a little on creativity and purpose. If you look back at every decade of music you can make very similar comparisons between artist from one to the next.

  • You can compare people like Tool (and all of Maynards other bands), Bush, NiN, Nirvana, and so on and so forth with great bands from the 80's and backtrace the 80s with the 70s and so on and so forth. But i have not found a band yet in the 2000s that match up with the 90s. Different style, no underlying purpose and/or flat out vulgarity is what i have heard of most. Whos someone that would end up in the Music hall of fame beside Jimmy or Paul, Eric, John, ect ect, from the 2000s?

  • @obeyance Muse? Arctic Monkeys? Foo Fighters? Radiohead?

  • @SuperMegabar Muse was formed in 94, Foo Fighters has been making gold/plat albums since the 90s and Radiohead was formed in 84 and made albums all throughout the 90s. The only band that you listed that is NOT a 90s band is Arctic Monkeys, and i dont know anyone that has heard of them... But i listened to a song and they sound ok. But thats one out of hundreds. And i dont think you have room to talk anymore for listing the bands you did other then AM for that question. Thanks though, you tried.

  • @obeyance Muse released their first album in late 1999 i would hardly call them a 90's band... Its like calling Nirvana a 80's band because they formed in 1986... Lemme list some more then:

The Strokes, The Enemy, The Libertines, Milburn... Are you american, because i can agree that no american bands that have come out in the last 10 or so years have been prominent but theirs alot of good bands from the Uk.

  • @Fizzyfoe Yeah, i have been saying for over a decade now that the 90s were the last great decade for true musical art. I wouldnt say all bands in the 90s were great, but a fair amount were. The musical ingeniousness of the artist of the 90s hasnt been duplicated into the 2000s. Its like good music just stopped, reminds me of American Pie(not the movie) honestly. Not saying that there arnt great artist now days, but i have not found any with the luster of most from the last century. (Born `83)

  • @Fizzyfoe yeah thats what happens when crappy artists try to be what their not its not talent a all i was born in 1991 i grew up listening to glycerine smashing pumkins everything was ozzy grundge rap was actaully good thx to biggy smalls and ice cube or dr. dre now rap and most music sucks no originallity and bullshit talent

  • @Fizzyfoe I did grow up with this stuff, even saw Bush and many others in some great venues. But I'm jealous of those in the 60s. We all wish we'd been somewhere else. 90s were awesome though.

  • @Fizzyfoe those are the words to be said to almost all older music. props to you for being able to go back and realize it

  • @Fizzyfoe Yeah it was a lot better in my day lol

  • @Fizzyfoe i grew up to this music im 29 now and the shit they bring out today does not compare

  • @Fizzyfoe Too bad this song sucks

  • @Fizzyfoe Indeed. The spirit was completely different... Grunge was quite special. And then the boy band came up and ruined everyhing. Now even Chris Cornell who was amazing at Soundgarden, makes participations with Timabland (I recognize T. is very good in hip hop/pop music. That is not the issue. The thing is...is weird to see a former rock/grunge singer change as much...). 90s forever.

  • @Fizzyfoe Ha ha! Your jealous!

  • Love this Song... One of my Fav Bush Songs... Sing it all the time

  • High school song. I loved this album. Nobody else did. Where are they all now? Who the F*(&^ cares!!

  • 0 dislikes, nice, graduated in 96, music was good then

  • @MrJAYMZ78 96 here too the music was the BEST then

  • love this band named after one of the most stupidest pricks to become presidents of the usa :L

  • @Ljsnipes: The band were about before Bush so weren't 'named after' :P. They were named after their inspiration of the culture surrounding the area of Shepards Bush in London

  • @mrnevermore you learn something new everyday :)

  • @mrnevermore Bush is older than this band but I get your point.

  • really don't understand why no one make music like this anymore.

  • @Der81Koenig Try Alice in chains, AudioSlave, Soundgarden, Ect

  • @Der81Koenig they do, it's just they aren't put on the radio for some odd and idiotic reason

  • @Der81Koenig its because you touch yourself at night!!

  • @Der81Koenig Because White youth want rap now.

  • This song makes me think about all the good times I had in my life

  • this is definitey tied up in adolescent memory. kinda bittersweet.

  • this song seems to say it all...every thing ive wanted to say to a past girl i still love

  • oh em gee it's the time travel code from the futurama movie on the tele.

  • This song takes you somewhere else, somewhere so you feel things you've been holding back from yourself for a long time.. I hope others feel the same way I do when you listen to this song.

  • @XxColdFusionxX i feel the same way

  • whoever doesnt like this;THUMBS DOWN 4 YOU!!!

  • Just an amazing song!!!! Shame this wasn't played regularly on rock stations when rock music used to take over radio industries. This song is under rated if you ask me

  • Love this one!

  • my FAVORITE ALBUM IN THE WHOLE WORLD. DEDICATED TO MY HUSBAND ROSIE ROTTENCROTCH

  • I always liked this band. This is one of my favorite songs from this album as well. I always seem to link songs and music to times in my life, this was when things were so much simpler . High School seems like a drag when your there but I would go back in a heartbeat.....71

  • I love this song...My favorite song some guy sang this to me it was romantic....=]So rock Gavin!!!

  • Im 14 I got this album at a garage sale I was suprised someone was selling it. I got it and I love it this is such a great song!

  • f...ing great song!90's forever! i love bush songs

  • i love the bass line

  • used to listen to this track 7am at restuarant while setting up, played it so loud, it gets under your skin and mind as it builds, fuck my boss hated me it drove him so crazy, the more he hated it the louder i played it yeeee haaaaa

  • This song still rocks after all these years. This would've been the prefect ending to Sixteen Stone instead of adding that awful 47 sec "X-Girlfriend" song.Glad to see that Bush is getting back together though the new song "Afterlife" didn't make an impact on me like any of their older stuff did.

  • Listened to this album alot during my early 20's, always loved this song. brings back alot of memories

  • Great song, brings back memories from crossroads in my life, I'll always remember forever.

  • love love love this song =)

  • Perfect. Song.

  • guess i'm the first to say this but great memories from young teenage-hood. good times good times.

  • I remember falling asleep w/ my stereo blasted @ 16 yrs old when this came out- I slept through the whole CD but woke up exactly right when this song started- and just laid there motionless mezmorized by this song half asleep in the dark- and just hoping that it would never end- and it didn't- it went on and on and on....then the Whammy's at the end-wow-- I will always have fond memories of this song because of this!

  • What an amazing song. So sad that the 90s are gone and now we are stuck with this emo shit.

  • brings me to tears for a youth long gone.Wish i would have seen how beautiful it was back then ...

  • Great song, takes me back.

  • bad ass and fuck all of you

  • fuckin amazing deep song these guys are absolutly great!!!!

  • Talking about drinking beer, my friend shot more heroine under bush that anyone I know.

  • i have drank more beer to this song than i could count haha .......

  • I used to sit alone with Jim Beam and redefine the words "drunk" and "depressed" with this song.

How morbid I consider it a fond memory.

  • possibly THEE most depressing song i've heard... but it's beautiful =') the best song off "Sixteen Stone".

  • Take another hit of the cat piss these guys were spin doctors .

  • I remember listening to this song on a long drive with some friends, at around 5:48 my friend blerts out "someone should tell this song, its finished"

  • nice. whole album was great

  • Wow. THis song brings me back. I haven't heard it in years. Probably since the late 90's. First girlfriends, first loves, high school, and all that never became.

  • @CrazyJay80 Amen CrazyJay

  • @CrazyJay80 awesome comment dude, thats exactly what it brings me back to. childish intensity, when everything was a huge matter of the heart and the world was wide open.. lol i miss those days. great song, great album.

  • @CrazyJay80 I accidentally thumbs downed your comment

I didn't mean to. I completely agree with your comment.

  • @CrazyJay80 very well put

  • I remember listening to this late at night and talking to my friends about life under the glow of a black light. Those were the days. I remember Smashing Pumpkins had Melon Collie out around that time too. Both were staples of my early music listening days.

  • The life is a completly S***, isn´t it?

  • words cant describe

    <3

  • This reminds me of hangin´ around with my friends... I think it was in 1995! Thank you for putting this up :o))

  • damn, this shit reminds me of high school and sneakn' into movies at the traverse city mall. miss those days...........miss those feelings and i you cg

  • We were driving around.. trying to get away from the world. It was beginning to rain. He started to play this song, and we had our first kiss. It was all so magical!!

  • Would've been great if they turned this nice groove and melody into a good 12 minute rock ballade.

  • thats the fn jam

  • thanks for putting this up!

  • This song can move me to tears and always had since I bought 16 stone way back when. Love it .

  • This is the best Bush song they put out... they have some classics, but this is the best...

  • agreed

    this and Glycerine

  • sad melancholic and simply perfect.

  • One of the best bass intros ever

  • @#$%ing Kick ass song man i loved Sixteen Stone CD man

  • @YOUTUBE @GOOG @$

  • welcome to Pizza Planet

  • one of the best, and yet least known songs on this album.

  • you can say that again, last song on one of the best albums ever!!!

  • the best for sure.the first cd i ever owned

  • me too! sweet tunes!

  • No it doesnt, all of the songsGavin writes are word soup, nothing means anything, its just words.

He said as much in a Kerrang interview. This way, the same lyrics can have different meanings to different people

  • How do I download this song to my computer

  • it means the girl he fell in love with was the second child born in her family and shes blonde and she took him away with her love

  • does anybody know what the heck, second blonde child means? And she come and take me away that's all that I needed? I would like to know what this means. I love the song, but kinda perturbed at the lyrics.

  • Alien abduction?

  • lol

  • we are "outa this world" alien

  • No , it's a melancholic love song.

  • it means whatever you think it means. that's the beauty of vague lyrics. :-)

  • One of my best childhood friends liked this song. Back when we were kids we listened to this album every day. He died last December. Blake we will remember you.

  • Here's to Blake , be happy he had the chance to love this song and all the world and was loved back.

  • @bennybg sorry to hear about your buddy. we'll get to see them again when our time comes, till then, its good to remember them.

  • @bennybg I have nothing fucked up to say to that. Losing a real friend hurts.... Losing my buddy still shakes me to the core and eats away at every single thing that makes me ME... I'm sorry, dude.

  • Sorry about your friend

  • heh, me and my gf love this song. its "our song" i remembered seeing her face when i let her hear it the first time

  • i totally miss u guys! ^^

  • always loved this song/album, it reminds me of roaming the halls of my highschool in '96 all the while listening to it in my head.

  • I agree...i think Bush is definitely an underrated band..this song is pretty much unknown to the mainstream...sucks for them, they are missing out!

  • first comment...this song rocks
