if the tail is wagging, the gain is set too high. i dont like the esky gyro, i went with an e-flite g110 on mine.. holds the tail good. if ya ask me the heli doesnt need a $200 futaba 401 gyro. but if ya got one laying around. slap it in there... you'll be albe to tell the difference
Be careful with your headspeed. Cannot tell if you are using stock blades, but they are not meant for over 2300 rpm headspeed. A LOT of people have thrown King blades using over rated motors. Nice job, but just saying to watch out, dont fly around people, kids especially and wear shades. Dude lost an eye a while back, rotor blade popped it like a grape. Off a Blade 400 IIRC.
i had same problem but not as bad as that all i dont was made the belt a little more slack and made sure it was not comming off its runners because thats a comon fault.
If you still have the tail wag issue on your Esky HH gyro, I noticed on mine it was due to a less than secure mounting job. It wasn't a gain issue, but a mechanical/vibration issue on the gyro itself. I put a 1 inch solid cube of balsa on the back of the gyro and used padded doublesided tape between the block and the gyro, and then between both and the mount. It really helped secure and got rid of the tail wag. For what it's worth.. thx
standard servo's but im upgrading to a new heli (dragonus 2) soon and well be given it to my bro to learn on i think this heli is perfect to learn on but i want to get more into helis and to do that i need the hardware to perform
gainsettings are to sensitive so you need to manually change it on to the gyro not on your transmitter
