Trx400ex14, your valve clearence should be same as stock, the Cam will change the duration that your valves open and close, I agre your jetting could be off, or with mine I changed the oil, my oil filter was clogged and after initial starup there is alot of crap and lube circulating, my headers glowed as well but cooled after

@xxshadow529 dont do it man.. i mean do it just not the 440 kit there rele shitty go with the 416 or 426 believe me the 426 kit is a shitload more reliable and its just as fast if not faster yea the 440 sounds more bad ass but the only thing its better for is hill climbing because it has a little more torque but in a drag race the 440 and 426 are dead even... i have a 406ex and i can keep up with 450's like there nothing
well it def aint slow i race it and i win with it in quad amature at caroga lake in ny so it can hold its own. ive drag raced my friends raptor 700 kept up[ with him till the end where he pulled just a bit..but it can hold its own ..450s are no joke tho. it woulld be tight

i think the 450r is faster then a 440 and after putting all that money into a 440 kit and stage 3 cams a bigger carb and jetting and a shop to do the work the 450r is better for the money you would have into your bike.
yo when are you getting the looney tuned duals? make a vid when you do i was guna get them but someone told me that they are restrictive and you dont get as much hp gain

curtis sparks is awesome and alot of 400ex owners have hmf, i think i am going to get a slip on hmf ironman, it sounds so sick and the power gain is monster
