Had to turn this off after about 30secs or so, compared to Floyd it's that bad! incredibly weak vocals ruin it for me, you can hardly hear him singing. Rest of the band are doing ok it's the vocals that down it IMO. Anyway this is such an iconic song no one should ever cover it because they'll all be a pale shadow of the real thing.

I don't care about techinique, what I ahte about dream theatre and especially about their covers and most of all this cover is that they're soulless.

The original song is beautiful, it's desperate, it's touching, it makes think, it's just amazing.

The music here is done perfectly but with no emotion, it's as if it was just a task accomplished, with no passion.

Same problem with LaBrie's voice, not enough emotion and weak.

I'm a lifelong Floyd fan, and while no one could ever rally match Floyd's excellence, I'm still honored by the Floyd coverage of bands like Dream Theater. This version was sub par, at least vocally....and the drum mix was bad...but still...at least DT tried their best to pay homage to a legendary band. Thanks, Dream Theater. You're appreciated.

Seriously, it's a pretty serious challenge for a natural tenor who can hit those notes all day and twice on Sunday to sound comparable to a guy who is wearing tenor clamps to get his voice up that high and straining blood vessels straight out of his forehead besides. The desperation in Waters' delivery can only be matched by someone who is equally desperate in their efforts to hit those notes.
