OK, especially if you're a parent, please get help! Please don't do that to your kids! My dad's mom killed herself and he found her. And now he's in prison for crack and parole violations. His life is ruined and, in turn, it ruined mine. It ruined my brother's, my mother's, his brothers and sisters. If you have kids, please, don't do that to them. Please, please don't ruin their lives. Either get help or something, but don't just leave them because you're in pain. It will get better.

I tried to kill myself, I have a 3 inch scar on my arm, I couldn't cut all the way because I had to speak to my current girlfriend one last time before I did. She is my lifeline. I still feel like if she broke up with me though, I would have to finish the job I started that night 2 months ago.

I know this feeling has come from years of deep seeded sadness, and anger... but I'm amazed at how it even came to be inside a person like me. I'm level headed, and down to earth.
Everytime the thought comes, it comes stronger, and the idea becomes all the more a possibility... even for a person like me.

suicide is never the answer, look around you, i'm sure there's at least one person in your life who would be devastated if you left everyone's life matters, don't throw it all way for petty reasons.at the age of 27 i became ill, and now i am bedridden with no hope of ever getting out of bed again, my husband and best friend left me. i suffer constantly but i never think of killing myself cuz i do have people who love me, , suicide is a selfish act, someone out there needs you!
i now some are complaining about the lack of empathy and concern with some of the representatives on the phone, but you got to realize that they're doing a customer service job, a field that is very stressful and repetitive. although someone's life far outweighs the importance of a job, you got to realize these people are talking to manic depressives everyday who may or may not actually do suicide.
i wouldn't call unless you want to risk the police being dispatched to you and get committed to a mental hospital. of course, this might help for some who need the extra help and therapy, but overall, i'd try to avoid this.
talk to friends, family, your pastor, someone who you can trust. for some of these recommendations they might seem bad, but you never know. pastors, whether you're religious or not, deal with a lot of people with depression and suicidal thinking and they can help.
@cyberwaffles We talk to many suicidal individuals who don't need immediate intervention. Our counselors can give you referrals for professional help in your area. If someone reports danger to self or others and cannot agree to keep safe or refrain from harming others, 911 does need to be called as a last resort.

I'm an army brat, so I moved around a lot. I hae anxiety issues, coupled with pre-bi-polar, so I don't really have many friends. My only friend that I had between the ages of three and twelve killed himself. I loved him with all my heart. Then I fond out that I was bi. My parents hate me for it, they got a divorce over it. My 'girlfriend' broke up with me because I was too much stress.

What happens when suicide is the only thing you can think about? When every day you think about doing it? I think about being on top of a tall building and taking that leap, knowing that if I was on top of a building that I would not hesitate or think about it, I would just go. Even being on medication and talking to someone weekly doesn't help.

Writer Kurt Vonnegut said that eventually your story is told and all there is to do is write the epilogue and to wait for death. My story has been told. I am ready to die. I have been very depressed since fall of '09. I wrote a book. My best friend was the main character in my book. He was very upset with what I wrote about him. A week after my book was published, they found him in a cornfield, dead, suicide.

I'm not suicidal myself, but I can understand why people do it in certain cases. Unfortunately, people often do it for the wrong reasons. I can only recommend smoking Marijuana for temporary relief, you'll forget about whatever you were depressed about, if only for a few hours, it's better than nothing. Talking to random strangers who know nothing about you probably isn't going to help, you need to self-reflect and analyze the situation for yourself.

I think he became really religious after his suicide attempt. He calls it the grace of god because he survived somehow. He jumped from the Golden Gate bridge and shattered parts of his leg into tiny pieces and swam about 60ft up and the only thing keeping him afloat was an eel swimming around him. Crazy shit.

I called that line once, the person who answered told me they were busy and to call back later. I see no reason to live if people are going to hate me the rest of my life. I'm ugly, unsuccessful, have severe social anxiety, no friends, and people see me as one of the worst beings they've been around. Life is like a movie, if you've sat through more than half of it and its sucked every second so far, it probably isn't gonna get great right at the end and make it all worthwhile. None should blame for walking out early... Also suicide is my way of telling God - You can't fire me, I QUIT !!!!! Suicide phonelines are utter rudeness. My brother commited suicide as well as the friend of the family. When I called just to talk, this dumb bitch answered and I tried explaining that I just need someone to talk to. She said "You have thoughts of commiting suicide?" I said well not as much but I really need someone to talk to-"Oh well than hold we have an ACTUAL emergency" then she put me on hold. Total BS.

I tried to kill myself, I have a 3 inch scar on my arm, I couldn't cut all the way because I had to speak to my current girlfriend one last time before I did. She is my lifeline. I still feel like if she broke up with me though, I would have to finish the job I started that night 2 months ago.

I know this feeling has come from years of deep seeded sadness, and anger... but I'm amazed at how it even came to be inside a person like me. I'm level headed, and down to earth.
Everytime the thought comes, it comes stronger, and the idea becomes all the more a possibility... even for a person like me.
I need a goddamn drink.(I only drink about 2x a year, and I quit about a year ago... I think I deserve this one)

i now some are complaining about the lack of empathy and concern with some of the representatives on the phone, but you got to realize that they're doing a customer service job, a field that is very stressful and repetitive. although someone's life far outweighs the importance of a job, you got to realize these people are talking to manic depressives everyday who may or may not actually do suicide.

i wouldn't call unless you want to risk the police being dispatched to you and get committed to a mental hospital. of course, this might help for some who need the extra help and therapy, but overall, i'd try to avoid this.
talk to friends, family, your pastor, someone who you can trust. for some of these recommendations they might seem bad, but you never know. pastors, whether you're religious or not, deal with a lot of people with depression and suicidal thinking and they can help.

If someone reports danger to self or others and cannot agree to keep safe or refrain from harming others, 911 does need to be called as a last resort.

My only friend that I had between the ages of three and twelve killed himself. I loved him with all my heart. Then I fond out that I was bi. My parents hate me for it, they got a divorce over it. My 'girlfriend' broke up with me because I was too much stress.

What happens when suicide is the only thing you can think about? When every day you think about doing it? I think about being on top of a tall building and taking that leap, knowing that if I was on top of a building that I would not hesitate or think about it, I would just go. Even being on medication and talking to someone weekly doesn't help.

I have been very depressed since fall of '09. I wrote a book. My best friend was the main character in my book. He was very upset with what I wrote about him. A week after my book was published, they found him in a cornfield, dead, suicide.

I don't see the point in living, but I really don't see the point in dying either. I mean I can stay here and stay miserable, or I can be selfish and make my family and friends suffer. I'm not suicidal myself, but I can understand why people do it in certain cases. Unfortunately, people often do it for the wrong reasons. I can only recommend smoking Marijuana for temporary relief, you'll forget about whatever you were depressed about, if only for a few hours, it's better than nothing. I dont think there is anything worth living for! Infact the longer I am alive the more reason's I find to Kill Myself! My son is the only thing keeping me alive today & Im not sure his mother is alowing me to feel comfort from that any longer! I fear that every second I am awake is bringing me closer to the inevitable truth! My existance only brings other's pain ,so the only logical thing to do is DIE!

I think he became really religious after his suicide attempt. He calls it the grace of god because he survived somehow. He jumped from the Golden Gate bridge and shattered parts of his leg into tiny pieces and swam about 60ft up and the only thing keeping him afloat was an eel swimming around him. Crazy shit.

I called that line once, the person who answered told me they were busy and to call back later. I see no reason to live if people are going to hate me the rest of my life. I'm ugly, unsuccessful, have severe social anxiety, no friends, and people see me as one of the worst beings they've been around. Not to mention, people treat me like a piece of shit because of my social anxiety. No one would miss me, that's a fact!

Life is like a movie, if you've sat through more than half of it and its sucked every second so far, it probably isn't gonna get great right at the end and make it all worthwhile. None should blame for walking out early... Also suicide is my way of telling God - You can't fire me, I QUIT !!!!! (no offense to the suicide hotline, they're just doing their jobs but how many of those hotline workers actually know what it's like to feel so much pain that death is comforting?)

Suicide phonelines are utter rudeness. My brother commited suicide as well as the friend of the family. When I called just to talk, this dumb bitch answered and I tried explaining that I just need someone to talk to. She said "You have thoughts of commiting suicide?" I said well not as much but I really need someone to talk to-"Oh well than hold we have an ACTUAL emergency" then she put me on hold. Total BS.
