u have any experience with the trannys in the raptors? i can feel mine grab when i go from neutral to first almost like a clunk feeling and sometimes slips out in 4 or 5 if not pulled into gear good enough but its not a clutch already checked it and changed it cause i had an extra
@Avalanche1530 the 01's had tranny deffect but other then that.... it sounds to me like your cable is too loose... try tightening the cable first... im thinking the when your lever is pulled in that the clutch isn't spread apart enough that it might make that clunking sound when you shift to first.... and if your running synthetic oil that might make it slip, just run regular oil in it . hope this helps
@gassolean thanks for the fast reply ill look into the clutch cable but i have always run synthetic with no problems what originally happened i was riding in first and a stick knocked the chain off and wedged between the hub and spocket while iw as way in the bush and snapped half a link and twisted it to shit so i just tried popping the clutch to break it to get it out of there and it grabbed then revved right up ...... i know stupid way to break it but it was my only option being by myself
I have an 01 and it still has no tranny problems yet.
